论据（1）（2）（3）都是论者列举的用以证明Grandview Symphony已经获得成功而无需财政支持的现象（Signs）。
论据（1）说该乐团已经聘请了一位国际知名指挥，这位指挥可以吸引知名的客席音乐家来这家乐团演出。但以下疑问需要论者作进一步的解释：第一，名指挥要价往往很高。聘请这位国际知名的指挥花了多少钱？是否会使本已靠财政补贴度日的乐团更加捉襟见肘？第二，有了名指挥就必然可以招徕知名音乐家吗？著名指挥的名望应该是诸多吸引音乐家参演因素中的一个，而不是全部。第三，即便有些知名音乐家应这位指挥之邀，同意和Grandview Symphony合作，他们也未必每次都能参加该乐团的演出。毕竟，他们只是客席音乐家（guest musicians），并不是该乐团的签约音乐家。
论据（2）运用的是统计数据论证，论者提到了两个重要数据。但问题是：第一，论者说private con Uibutions to the symphony have doubled。
那么一年前，这个交响乐团得到了多少私人赞助？如果数量很少（比如仅仅两三万美元），那么“从去年以来赞助翻一番”说明不了什么问题。其二，公园音乐会的上座率也存在类似问题：如果之前的基数很低，所谓的newhighs并不会非常多。再者，公园音乐会收费吗？收多少？这些公园音乐会是否能有效带动这个交响乐团在音乐厅里演出的上座率？这些通常具有音乐普及和教育性质的公园音乐会能否使公众对交响乐曲产生兴趣并成为实际的欣赏者和消费者？

论据（3）是个因果关系论证。论者认为既然the Grandview Symphony is an established success，那么他们就可以提价，该乐团今后的收入就不成问题了。首先。论者这里面有一个循环论证的谬误。该乐团的运作是否已经取得成功本来是个待定的问题，但论者却断定其已经成功，并以之为前提，建议该乐团提高演出票价。除此之外，还有以下问题需要论者的进一步证明：其一，乐团只是有可能提高票价而已。这个计划对今年的票房收入没有影响，并且该计划最终可否实施尚不得而知。其二，即便下一年提了票价，又能提多少？其三，提高票价之后，音乐会的上座率会下降吗？可否维持现在的上座率或者保持稳定上升？第四，乐团运营的其他费用。比如付给乐团成员的工资、设备和道具的成本、演出场地的租金、宣传和交通费用等会上升吗？如果这些费用上涨较多，提高票价并不能带来多少净收入。第五，其他交响乐团是否会对该乐团构成竞争？或者其他的音乐形态，比如摇滚、戏剧、电影是否会分流一部分观众和听众？
