Author Description

廖瑛，教授，湖南师范大学英语语言文学专业毕业，现为湖南大学外国语学院语言学及应用语言学专业硕士研究生导师，院学术委员会委员、学位委员会委员，教育部和湖南省人文学科、学位评审专家，研究方向为应用语言学、文体学和商务英语。1987-1995年任湖南省大学外语协会副会长，现任湖南省科技翻译工作者协会副会长兼学术部长。出版有《实用公关英语》、《实用外贸英语函电》、《国际商务英语——商务理论、语言与实务》、《实用外贸谈判英语》、《国际商务英语语言与翻译研究》和《新编外贸英语口语教程》等共36本著作，合计1100多万字，在各类学术期刊上发表论文20多篇，主持和参与主持国家级、省级和校级科研四项，其中两项分获省级一等奖和三等奖。其著作和事迹已收入湖南省社会科学院主编的《当代湘籍著作家大辞典》等多种辞书。

B：如果这样，我别无选择，只好接受以保兑的不可撤销的信用证付款的条件了。晤，什么时候我们得开出有关信用证？
Z：信用证必须在交货前15～30天由买方开出，以便我方作出必要的安排。
B：信用证有效期多长？
Z：有效期为装船日后15天。
B：请问你们将提供哪些单据？
Z：除了汇票以外，我们还将交给你们一整套提单、发票、出口许可证、保险单、产地证书和检验证书。我想就这些。
B：这笔交易，我们能否采用分期付款的方式？
Z：为了今后的业务，我们采用三月内等额分期付款的方式，但第一批款项要在发货前15天到达我方。
B：我能用人民币付款吗？
Z：我们希望你们最好用美元支付。
B：假如我们用人民币付款，你能告诉我怎样办理吗？
Z：现在欧美许多银行和北京的中国银行有账户往来，他们能够开出信用证，并且用人民币支付。你去银行问一下就知道了，他们会替你办理这项业务的。
5．询问交货时间
B：请问你们通常要多长时间交货？
Z：一般说来，在收到信用证之后两个月之内可以交货，有时我们从厂家那儿弄到货物较容易，我们交货也就快些。
B：关于我们这批货，什么时候交？
Z：恐怕要到六月底。
B：你们能否提前点交货？至少现在交一半？六月底交货太晚了。
张先生，你也许知道，在我们那里，七月是这种商品上市的季节，交货时间对我们来说是太重要了，如果我们把商品投到市场上去的时候，别的进口商把商品脱手赚了钱，那我们就亏了。
Z：为一点我明白，但是我们今年做的买卖比以往要大，要向我们的厂家搞到大批的货物，并在短期内交货是很困难的。
6．定交货时间
B：可是，你能设法说服厂家提前一点交货吗？我们希望你对我们的要求予以特殊考虑，及时交货对我们关系可大啦。
Z：你可以相信，我们最不愿做那些使顾客失望的事情，特别是像你这样的老顾客。但是，我们厂家眼前生产任务压得很重，这是事实。我们将和厂家联系一下，尽量把交货日期提前到六月中旬。并且一次性装运。
B：货物何时可以抵达我方？
Z：如果运输途中不发生意外，货物估计六月底可抵达贵方。但绝不会迟于7月2日。
