Author Description

方韬，男，陕西汉中人。1998年至2002年就读于北京师范大学中文系，获文学学士学位。2005年至2010年就读于北京师范大学古籍与传统文化研究院中国古典文献学专业（硕博连读），获文学博士学。2010年7月进入北京师范大学历史学院博士后流动站，导师刘家和先生。主要研究方向为《左传》学与魏晋学术史。在《文史》、《中国文化研究》等刊物上发表论文数篇，并出版古籍译注多部。

Book Abstract

子曰：“弟子入则孝，出则弟，谨而信，爱众而亲仁。行有余力，则以学文。”
孔子说：“子弟在家的时候孝敬父母，出外的时候顺从兄长，谨慎而有信用，广泛地亲近百姓，亲近仁者。在道德实践的空隙，则应该提高知识修养。”
圣人的智慧
这一章孔子讲了三个层次。首先，他强调了孝悌是为人的基础，父母和兄弟是人最先要面对的也是最基本的一个生活圈；其次，是面对他人的关系：要谨慎、讲诚信、尽量地去爱身边的每一个人；最后，在家能做个好子弟，在外是个善良诚信的人，这时候就需要去读书学习圣贤之道，进一步提高自己的道德修养了。孔子告诉我们：人的活动总是从最基本的家庭开始的，所以我们出生以后的第一个角色是儿女。做儿女的本分就是应该孝敬父母。然后，我们渐渐长大，接触到形形色色的人，自己也开始变成一个有更多交往关系的社会成员。这时候，我们要学会在人群中处理好各种复杂的关系，树立起自己的良好形象。有了这些基本的为人处世修养后，我们要想使自己再有所提高，就必须读书学习，因为古圣今贤的智慧在此隐藏。反观今天，我们片面强调读书的重要性，反倒忽视了做人处世的一些基本原则。我们从小学、中学、大学，甚至到博士毕业，许多人读书不少却缺乏一些简单的处世智慧。这不能不说是我们所受教育的一个缺陷。看看孔子的言论，这里似乎并没有多少智慧，而是一些最简单的最基本的“规则”，如果按照这些规则去办事，去约束自己，便是处世为人的良方了。
子夏曰：“贤贤易色；事父母能竭其力，事君能致其身；与朋友交，言而有信。虽曰未学，吾必谓之学矣。”
子夏说：“敬重贤德替代喜欢美色；侍奉父母能够尽心尽力，侍奉君主能够献出生命；和朋友交往，言而有信。尽管他自己说没有学习，我必然会认为他已经学习得很好了。”
圣人的智慧
这一章实际上是子夏重申孔子的观点。子夏强调了事父母竭其力——尽孝，事君王致其身——尽忠，对朋友重言诺——有信。在春秋时代人们的心中，父母和君王是有着崇高地位的。《国语》中说：“民生于三，而事之如一。父生之，师教之，君食之。非父不生，非食不养，非教不知。”这告诉当时的人们，没有父母的养育、师长的教导和君王的恩赐，我们是无法生存的。子夏的观点充分显示了孔子的“学”的观点：道德先于知识，行为先于语言。
儒家学说的一个显著特点就是注重家庭和伦理，从个人修养的角度来看，夫妻、父子、君臣、朋友是伦理道德方面的重要内容，子夏继承孔子的观点，并进一步将之发扬光大，进一步对伦理道德的要求细化，提出“贤贤”“竭其力”“致其身”和“言而有信”四点要求。从目前看来，这些东西果真就成了陈腐的说教了吗？事实并不是这样的，如果人们能按照这些原则去做，那么做到“贤贤”就不会以貌取人了；做到“竭其力”就能报答父母的大恩了；做到“致其身”在事业上就能无所畏惧了；做到“言而有信”就一定能立足于社会，自己的人生就会更为完美。
子曰：“君子不重则不威，学则不固。主忠信。无友不如己者。过则无惮改。”
孔子说：君子不庄重谨慎就会没有威严，学问就不能巩固。行为上要以忠信为主，不要和不如自己的人做朋友，犯了错误不要害怕改正。
圣人的智慧
孔子认为君子应该举止庄重，没有一个严肃认真的态度，学问就很难牢固扎实。交朋友也要有选择，不要和那些道德学问不如自己的人交朋友。在孔子看来，朋友的档次就代表了你自己的水平。孔子说：“不知其人，观其友可也。”知错就改，也是衡量君子的一个重要的标准。孔子说：“小人必文过饰非。”子贡也说：“君子之过也，如日月之食焉；过也，人皆见之；更也，人皆仰之。”掩盖缺点就如同掩耳盗铃一样危险，欺骗的只能是自己，当然受损的也是你自己了。
言而有信、选择益友、知错能改、知错不怕改是个老话题了，可是我们又遗憾地发现：人总是犯同一个错误。一个丢三落四的人，今天忘拿一件东西，明日依旧会落下另一样。我们有没有想过：怎样避免在同一个地方跌倒两次？当不好的东西成为一种习惯后，就会减弱你的竞争力。人们常说：优秀是种习惯，当然指的是良好习惯。时刻对自己身上的不良倾向保持警惕，通过良师益友的帮助和自我的不断反省，一定会非常优秀的。
曾子曰：“慎终，追远，民德归厚矣。”
曾子说：“谨慎地对待父母的去世，追思远古的祖先，那么老百姓的品德就会回归于淳厚了。”
圣人的智慧
在儒家学说的体系中，对待祖先的态度是非常重要的。谨慎认真地办好丧事，虔诚地祭祀祖先，人们就会知道自己对于祖先后代的责任和义务，民风也会因此变得淳朴。时代的变迁，有些东西会变得模糊，大多数人在父母逝世的时候，哀痛悲伤的心情到了极致，而谨慎戒惧的心情往往不足；在祭祀祖先的时候，已经做到十分恭敬了，但感念思慕的精神却很少。这些不单单是教我们如何做一个孝子贤孙，而是让我们知道我们活在这个世界上并不是孤零零的，也不光是为了自己生活的。上有父母以至祖先，下有子女以至元孙。我们只是这个链条谱系中的一环，而并非全部。每一代人都有自己的责任和义务，虽然在这个时代里我们面临着比祖先更大的生存压力，但是我们没有道理放弃这一切，更不要轻视生命本身。好好地活着，因为你身上流的血，有先人们的光荣还有后代的期盼！
子禽问于子贡曰：“夫子至于是邦也，必闻其政，求之与，抑与之与？”子贡曰：“夫子温、良、恭、俭、让以得之。夫子之求之也，其诸异乎人之求之与？”
子禽问子贡：“夫子到了这个国家后，必然听得到这个国家的政治。是他从别人那里打听来的，还是别人主动告诉他的？”子贡回答说：“夫子通过温顺、善良、恭敬、俭朴、谦让的品德而得到，夫子求得的方式，大概和其他人求得的方式不同吧１

孔子的“温、良、恭、俭、让”已经成为中国古代社会两千多年来的道德准则，同时也是儒家为国人塑造的理想人格。“温、良、恭、俭、让”，可以说这是孔子毕生努力所达到的道德修为。他自内而外地把人温柔善良的本性展现出来，具有极强的道德人格魅力。同时，“温、良、恭、俭、让”又把东方人以“柔”为主的为人处世方式诠释得淋漓尽致。
在我们今天这个处处充满竞争的环境里，“温、良、恭、俭、让”已成了胆小鬼逃避的借口吗？是的，没有勇气和竞争意识就意味着失败。然而，你想过没有，除去追求成功，我们还有什么更该珍视的吗？善良的人性和从容的心态。当人们为了一点蝇头小利争得你死我活的时候，其实只需要你那一点谦让就能化解多少怨气和仇恨。古人常说“吃亏是福”，这里面不只是人生的一种苦楚和无奈，还有更高的智慧。老子说得好，“惟其不争，故天下莫能与之争”，真是至理名言啊！
