自列奥纳多·达·芬奇以来的5个半世纪里，他已经成为一个神秘的符号。他是人类历史上最知名的艺术家。倘若要求那些对艺术缺乏兴趣的人说出一位艺术家的名字，答案如果不是毕加索，那么十有八九就是达·芬奇。他的《蒙娜丽莎》是世界上知名度最高的画作，而她之所以闻名于世，绝不仅仅是因为曾经遭到过各种恶搞。世界各地各个年代的学生也许都曾在墙上看到过这位带着谜一样微笑的女士，或被加上一副粗框眼镜，或比出“和平”的手势，甚至在吸食大麻。
