葛晓音，1968年毕业于北京大学中文系，目前为北京大学中文系教授、香港浸会大学中文系讲座教授。已出版《八代诗史》、《汉唐文学的嬗变》、《诗国高潮与盛唐文化》、《山水田园诗派研究》、《先秦汉魏六朝诗歌体式研究》等古典文学研究著作十余种。

Book Abstract

北宋前期词风至柳永而为之一变。柳永（生卒年不详），原名三变，字耆卿，出生于儒学仕宦之家。创作活动主要在真宗至仁宗的三十多年间，正是北宋文化经济达到繁荣兴盛的时期。他的生平大抵可分两个阶段：早年对前程充满自信，人京后却屡试不中。后来又在放榜时被深斥浮艳虚美之文的宋仁宗黜落。从此鄙弃功名利禄，自称“奉旨填词”，流连于汴京的秦楼楚馆，为教坊乐工和民间歌妓填写新词，用流行的新声写下大量俚俗的作品。内容大抵是描绘都市的繁华，备述行役羁旅之苦，诉说男欢女爱，抒写离情别绪，反映下层市民尤其是妓女的不幸生活。柳永四十余岁时释褐人仕，生活和创作发生了很大转变，虽不免有怀旧之词，但早年的风情显然减退，放浪的生活和俗词的写作也从此结束。后期创作有不少歌颂皇恩和粉饰升平之作，宦游途中也写下了许多羁旅行役之词，洗尽翦红刻翠之语，词风由俗变雅。有《乐章集》，计二百多首词。
柳词代表着宋词发展的一个新阶段，主要体现在以下几方面：
首先，大量创制长调。敦煌曲子词里原有一些长调，如《倾杯乐》、《内家娇》、《拜新月》、《柳青娘》、《凤归云》等，但一直没有得到发展。花问、南唐、宋初词所用体调均以小令为主。柳永精通音律，一方面借鉴和发展了敦煌曲子词的长调，一方面以当时的新声代替唐五代的旧曲小令，创制了许多篇幅较长、句子错综不齐的长调，并将原来的许多小令也衍为较长的词调。他的《乐章集》所收二百多首词中，长调有一百多首，绝大部分是前所未见或借用旧曲制成新体。柳永以后，长调兴起，并在此后的发展中掩过了小令。
其次，与长调的体制相应，创造了以白描见长，铺叙层次分明、细致而又直露的艺术表现手法。长调本来宜于铺叙，柳词往往曲尽形容、淋漓尽致，不求含蓄，但讲究结构严谨、层次清楚、首尾完整、工于点染，把抒情诗中融情于景的传统与赋体叙事铺写的特点结合起来，又时有一二优美警句在篇中生色。例如他的《望海潮》：
东南形胜，江吴都会，钱塘自古繁华。烟柳画桥，风帘翠幕，参差十万人家。云树绕堤沙，怒涛卷霜雪，天堑无涯。市列珠玑，户盈罗绮，竞豪奢。
重湖叠蠟清嘉，有三秋桂子，十里荷花。羌管弄晴，菱歌泛夜，嬉嬉钓叟莲娃。千骑拥高牙，乘醉听箫鼓，吟赏烟霞。异日图将好景，归去凤池夸。

一个热爱诗歌的民族应该是富有理想的民族，诗让人感悟人生、体味人生；诗能净化精神，使人升华到高尚的境界。一个善于写诗的民族应该是最有修养的民族，诗启发人理解自然、思考哲理；诗能展示人性的真实，促进人对于人类共同感受的认同。唐诗宋词的永恒魅力就在于体现了我们民族的性格。
真正的好诗是不受时代和地域局限的。它虽然产生于千年以前，却像才脱笔砚一样新鲜，无论何时吟诵，都有清新的气息扑面而来。能够深深沁人心灵的不仅是优美的语言和节奏，更有那种源自生活的诗意，可以融入小说、戏剧、散文、音乐、舞蹈、美术，滋养一切的文艺形式，唐诗宋词的永恒魅力就在于涵养了我们民族的情操。
中国诗歌是农业社会的产物，似乎与工业化社会无缘。然而在现代物质享受几近饱和之后，人们终于发现自己将要失去的是最基本的生存环境。真正的好诗能引导人寻找失落的精神家园，使人在浮华喧嚣中返归宁静和淳朴。回到人的本真，重新认识生活的意义，这就是我们今天仍然需要唐诗宋词的理由。
