Content Description

现代资产阶级福利经济学体系是由剑桥学派的庇古建立的。他提出了研究社会福利的增进和生产资源的zui适度配置问题。但是这个理论是以效用的可比性为基础的，如果效用在个人之间无法比较，那么就不能进行总计的比较，因此福利zui大化就成了无从讨论的命题。为此，自1939年以来，新福利经济学兴起，代表人物有勒纳、卡尔多、希克斯、萨缪尔森等。他们用序数效应代替了基数效用的讨论，排除了效用在个人之间的比较。因此，新福利经济学的核心是实现帕累托zui优。后期的经济学者对这样的观点进行了修补工作。而本书就是比较重要的一部。他在资本主义世界曾引起了广泛的注意，并产生了重大的影响。

Author Description

作者李特尔是英国著名经济学家。他与卡尔多、希克斯、西托夫斯等新福利经济学派代表人物共同完善了福利经济学的发展。提出了重要的三重标准。译者陈彪如（1910-2003），曾用名陈友炳，福州人。1910年12月生。幼时接受私塾教育，后进中学学习数理化。1929年考人清华大学政治系，四年后毕业进研究院继续深造，1934年辍学参加工作，并于业余坚持自学。抗战爆发后，投入抗日救亡运动，1944年留学美国哈佛大学，专攻经济学，从此走上研究经济学的道路。经过两个春秋的勤学苦读，于1946年获硕士学位。同年底回国，受聘为暨南大学经济系教授，兼系主任。解放后历任上海复旦大学经济系、苏州东吴大学经济系教授及上海震旦大学经济系数授。1952年起，一直在华东师范大学执教，任该校经济系教授，系主任，世界经济研究室主任，兼中国外国经济学说研究会副会长和上海分会会长，中国国际金融学会常务理事，上海国际金融学会副会长，中国世界经济学会理事，上海世界经济学会副会长，上海国际问题研究中心顾问等职，还任华东师大远东国际金融学院名誉院长，博士生导师。2003年7月4日在上海逝世，享年93岁。
