什么是抑郁症？
我们很多人都有情绪的波动，有些时候我们会沉浸在“低落”的情绪中不能自拔而需要帮助。抑郁症会有各种症状表现，包括精力减退、丧失对活动和生活的兴趣、悲伤、失去食欲、体重减轻、容易激惹、难以做决定以及想要自杀。很多抑郁症患者也会感到焦虑，他们常常会感觉到担心、恶心、头昏、皮肤一阵阵冷或热、视力模糊、心跳加快、出汗。
临床上的抑郁症表现从轻到重。例如：一些人主诉时不时出现轻度抑郁症症状。而其他人，那些遭受严重抑郁症困扰的人，主诉的症状要多得多，且频繁出现，持续很长时间，让人非常困扰。
临床上的抑郁症和亲人去世的丧失、分居、离异引起的悲哀不同。在悲哀的时候感觉到伤心、空空的、精力减退、对日常生活失去兴趣，愤怒和焦虑也是正常悲哀过程中的常见现象。但是，临床上的抑郁症和悲哀不同，前者可以在没有丧失的时候发生。另外，临床上的抑郁症常常持续时间比悲哀更长久，还伴随自我批评、无望感和绝望感。
谁会得抑郁症？
抑郁症不是发生在那些“不寻常”或“疯狂”的人身上，而是会发生在任何人的身上。抑郁症常常与焦虑相伴随，是情绪的感冒。在任何一年中，相当一部分人都会遭受重性抑郁症之苦。在一生中，25％的女性和12％的男性都会遭受重性抑郁发作的痛苦。抑郁症首次发作后，再次出现抑郁发作的概率很高。幸运的是，有一些非常有效的方法可以治疗抑郁症并能显著减少其复发率。
