第一章 责任心理学概述
第一节 责任的内涵与本质
在人类文明的早期，责任通常作为神学、伦理学和法学术语被人们广泛采用。譬如，早在我国春秋战国时期的诸子典籍中就已散落有不少关于责任的精辟论断；在西方，古希腊的亚里士多德（Aristotles）曾专门论述过责任问题，并对西方文化产生了深远影响。到了近现代，随着政治学、社会学、教育学、心理学的发展，责任又先后进入这些学科的研究视野，成为各自学科体系的一个有机组成部分。那么责任究竟是什么？
一、西方学界关于责任概念的界定
德国的责任心理学家奥哈根（A.E.Auhagen）等人在回顾西方学界有关责任的研究成果时指出：“责任究竟是什么？是一个伦理学范畴、一种社会规范、一个由个体形成的社会建构？还是一种道德行为的特征、一种态度、一种先天倾向、一种行为的动机或导向？抑或是一种生活情境、角色行为、对过去或未来的所作所为的解释？或者是别的什么东西？责任是一种单一的、整体的结构，还是若干‘责任’的联合体？……对于这些问题的答案是：它完全依赖于人们的研究视角和追求的目标。”（Auhagen，Bierhoff，2001）可见，在西方学界，对于“责任”概念的内涵与本质还远未达成共识。但从众多纷繁复杂的论述中，我们仍然能够找到三个有关责任本质的趋于一致的认识，即责任的群体性基础、内在性本质以及责任与付出代价相关联。
（一）责任是人类群体性的必然要求
责任是人类群体性或社会性的产物，这似乎是西方大多数责任研究者最可能达成的主流共识。学者们大多承认，责任源自人际问的社会依存性，是特定社会之于个体思想、行为的规定性。个体通过与群体、社会以及生态环境的互动过程，生成或内化这种规定性，并最终体现于自身的思想和行为实践中（况志华，叶浩生，2007）。
