杜仲是我国十分重要的国家战略资源。杜仲能够形成一个庞大产业的基础是其本身所具有的独特和无法替代的性能。它既是世界上极具发展潜力的优质天然橡胶资源，又是名贵药材树种，同时也是改善生态环境、增加碳汇的重要树种。
杜仲是世界上极少数分布于亚热带和温带的优质天然橡胶资源。杜仲橡胶具有独特的橡（胶）塑（料）二重性，可广泛应用于化工（橡胶）、航空航天、国防、交通运输、通信、电力、水利、体育、医疗等行业。杜仲还是我国十分重要的名贵中药，具有强筋骨、补肝肾、久服轻身耐老等功效。杜仲耐寒、抗旱、耐贫瘠、适生区域广阔，在我国27个省（区、市）均有栽培，南至广西，北达吉林，东自上海，西抵新疆喀什，可栽培区域1000万公顷以上，而目前栽培面积仅约35万公顷，发展潜力巨大。
大力发展杜仲橡胶资源产业，是解决我国天然橡胶资源匮乏的唯一途径；发展杜仲天然橡胶产业，是提高天然橡胶产品质量的有效措施；发展杜仲橡胶产业，能够优化林业产业结构，促进林业三大效益有机结合；同时，发展杜仲产业，能够有效提高国民身体素质和健康水平。
为推动杜仲产业快速发展，中国社会科学院将杜仲橡胶资源培育与产业列为重大国情调研项目，成立了跨部门的课题组，并赴河南、甘肃、上海等地对一些典型杜仲企业进行了调研活动。新华社、中央电视台参与调研并向社会介绍了多年来中国社会科学院社会发展研究中心主持承担的国情调研杜仲项目的实践活动。杜仲产业项目的国情调研是党中央、国家的研究智库首次进行的跨部门、跨行业的重点创新工程实践项目，涉及科研院所、企业、地方政府、林农户等多部门的协同参与，旨在研究和推动杜仲橡胶资源培育和综合产业的可持续发展。

Book Abstract

干法是一类通过碾压、粉碎或水力涡洗等物理方法破坏含胶细胞，使胶丝暴露出来后再将其游离回收的提取技术。此类方法工序少、设备简单、便于机械操作，适于大规模连续生产。但其提胶产率不如湿法高，而且在机械强力打碎或冲洗过程中杜仲橡胶体的天然结构遭到破坏，胶体失去原有的高聚合度特性，并使这种高聚合度所赋予的拉伸性、韧性、弹性、结晶等性能受到削弱。湿法提取利用一定种类化学试剂溶解非胶体组分或胶体组分进而使两者之一达到分离的目的，后经干燥、蒸馏等步骤逐步提取杜仲树胶，包括碱洗法与溶剂法两类。
碱洗法利用碱液反复浸洗原料，除去杜仲果实的木质素、树脂等非胶物质进而分离出杜仲橡胶，其中发酵、碱浸和离心是整个处理过程中的3个重要环节。碱洗法同样适用于大规模连续生产，便于实现机械化，但在漂洗过程中要耗费大量的水资源，还存在工序繁琐、污染严重等缺陷，限制了其在生产上的推广应用。
溶剂法是利用氯仿、低沸点石油醚以及有双键的苯类等低极性溶剂使杜仲橡胶从植物细胞中溶解出来，再加入甲醇、乙醇、丙酮或乙酸乙酯等极性溶剂或通过蒸干原溶剂析出杜仲橡胶体。此类方法溶胶损失量小、提胶纯度高、便于循环使用。其不足之处主要在于能溶解杜仲橡胶的溶剂种类不多，且杜仲橡胶溶解后析出条件难以控制，不利于胶体回收；另外有机溶剂易燃、毒性大、危险系数高。
各种提取方法虽包含不同的工艺步骤，但也有相同之处，可以通过组合达到理想的提取效果。这使杜仲综合提胶法在原有的研究基础上逐步建立起来。如溶剂法与发酵技术相结合，通过发酵提高含胶细胞细胞壁的通透性，并增强杜仲橡胶的溶解作用，从而利于胶的浸提。
以上各种杜仲橡胶提取工艺，特别是化学法提取杜仲橡胶工艺未能持续健康发展，其根本原因在于这些分离提取技术落后、成本高昂、环境污染严重，使杜仲橡胶的产业化发展在其源头已不具备市场竞争力。
