高级建模技术
在3ds Max中，除了内置的几何体模型外，用户可以通过对二维图形的挤压、放样等操作来制作三维模型，还可以利用基础模型、面片、网格等来创建三维物体。本章将对这些建模技术进行介绍，通过对本章内容的学习，读者可以熟悉二维图形的形状和特点，掌握二维图形生成三维模型的方法。还可以结合相应的修改器，方便地创建出形状复杂的三维物体。

样条线
样条线是可控制的曲线，由点、线段、线3部分组成，通过数学公式计算生成，在设计中运用线的点、线段以及线的空间位置不同而得到不同的模拟效果，最终得到设计效果。在命令面板，单击“创建 >图形 >样条线”命令，即可看到所列出的样条线。其中包括线、矩形、圆、椭圆、弧、圆环、多边形、星形、文本、螺旋线和截面等。
线的创建
线是3ds Max中最简单、最基础的二维基本模型，在建模中扮演着重要的角色，用户一定要重视线的创建。线的创建步骤如下。
步骤01 在创建命令面板中单击“图形”按钮，在“ 样条线”下单击“线”按钮，在顶视图中单击鼠标左键，并跳跃式继续单击不同位置，生成一条线，然后单击右键结束创建。
步骤02 在“修改”命令面板中，左击“line”，激活“line”。
步骤03 在“渲染”卷展栏中，勾选在渲染中使用和在视口中使用，径向“厚度”设置为12，线就有了一定的厚度。
步骤04 当激活“矩形”时，则线将以矩形的形态呈现。
提示——认识几何体展卷栏
在“几何体”卷展栏中，由“角点”所定义的点形成的线是严格的折线，由“平滑”所定义的节点形成的线是可以圆滑相接的曲线。单击鼠标时若立即松开便形成折角，若继续拖动一段距离后再松开便形成圆滑的弯角。由Bezier（贝赛尔）所定义的节点形成的线是依照Bezier算法得出的曲线，通过移动一点的切线控制柄来调节经过该点的曲线形状。展卷栏中主要选项的含义介绍如下。
“ 创建线”表示是在此样条线的基础上在加线。
“ 断开”表示将一个顶点断开成两个。
“ 附加”表示单击该按钮，可以将两条线转换为一条线。
“ 优化”表示是可以在线条上任意加点。
“焊接”表示将断开的点焊接起来，“连接”和“焊接”的作用是一样的，只不过
“连接”必须是重合的两点。
“ 插入”不但可以插入点还可以插入线。
“ 熔合”表示将两个点重合，但还是两个点。
“ 圆角”表示把直角给一个圆滑度。
“ 切角”表示将直角切成一条直线。
“ 隐藏”表示把选中的点隐藏起来，但是还是存在的。而“取消隐藏”表示把隐藏的点都显示出来。
“ 删除”表示删除不需要的点。
