6.1 机械电气简介
机械电气是一类比较特殊的电气，主要指应用在机床上的电气系统，故也可以称为机床电气，包括应用在车床、磨床、钻床、铣床以及镗床上的电气，也包括机床的电气控制系统、伺服驱动系统和计算机控制系统等。随着数控系统的发展，机床电气也成为了电气工程的一个重要组成部分。
机床电气系统的组成如下。
（1）电力拖动系统
以电动机为动力驱动控制对象（工作机构）做机械运动。
①直流拖动与交流拖动
直流电动机：具有良好的启动性能、制动性能和调速性能，可以方便地在很宽的范围内平滑调速，尺寸大，价格高，运行可靠性差。
交流电动机：具有单机容量大、转速高、体积小、价钱便宜、工作可靠和维修方便等优点，但调速困难。
②单电机拖动和多电机拖动
单电机拖动：每台机床上安装一台电动机，再通过机械传动机构装置将机械能传递到机床的各运动部件。
多电机拖动：一台机床上安装多台电机，分别拖动各运动部件。
（2）电气控制系统
对各拖动电动机进行控制，使它们按规定的状态、程序运动，并使机床各运动部件的运动得到合乎要求的静、动态特性。
①继电器，接触器控制系统这种控制系统由按钮开关、行程开关、继电器、接触器等电气元件组成，控制方法简单直接，价格低。
③计算机控制系统由数字计算机控制，高柔性，高精度，高效率，高成本。
