《茅盾文学奖获奖作品全集：黄河东流去》是以一九三八年日本侵略军进入中原，溃退南逃的国民党军队扒开黄河花园口大堤，淹没河南、江苏、安徽三省四十四县，一千多万人遭灾的历史事件为背景，描写了黄泛区人民从一九三八年到一九四八年经历的深重灾难和可歌可泣的斗争。
作者十分熟悉黄泛区人民的斗争生活，十分熟悉黄河岸边的风土人情。通过黄河岸边七户农民家庭的坎坷命运和不同遭遇，反映了旧中国劳动人民的深重苦难，反映了他们参加斗争的必由之路。作品生活气息浓郁，语言朴实流畅，人物形象真实可信，栩栩如生，塑造了徐秋斋、李麦、海长松、老清、蓝五、王跑等几个不同性格的农民形象，具有很大的典型意义。
全书结构紧凑，笔调深沉而又幽默诙谐，读来亲切感人，有强烈的艺术感染力。

Author Description

李凖，（1928-2000），蒙古族，河南孟津人。曾任河南省作家协会副主席，中国现代文学馆馆长，中国作家协会副主席，中国电影家协会主席团委员、中国电影文学学会副会长。
著有长篇小说《黄河东流去》，中短篇小说集《李双双小传》《车轮的辙印》，电影文学剧本《李双双》《老兵新传》《牧马人》《清凉寺的钟声》等。《黄河东流去》，上集1978年，下集1984年，北京出版社初版。

“我不是汉奸！”天亮气愤地回答。
“还狡辩！你带那么多小镜子干嘛？小镜子可以指示日本飞机丢炸弹！”
“我没有带小镜子！”天亮委屈地说。
那个带他来的下级军官忙说：“报告师长，他不是那个货郎挑子，他是那个船户。”
那个军官从鼻子里“哼”了一声，甩了烟蒂，乜斜着眼睛横了天亮一眼：“船上装的什么货？扣下来。”天亮说：“我们的船叫日本鬼子抢走了！我是来报信的，你们就把我绑起来……”他还没有说完，从门外又进来一个军官，还带着几个马弁，那个大脑袋师长赶快从椅子上站了起来，戴上帽子，“拍”地一声，脚后跟一碰，向那个人敬了个礼。
天亮又被带出去了。
原来那个大脑袋师长姓赖，叫赖金汤，是国民党新八师师长兼郑州开封段的河防司令。来的这个军官叫安景勋，是国民党第一战区司令长官部的参谋长。安景勋早年毕业于保定讲武堂，从小学过一些历史，读过一点旧兵法，一向自诩为博学多才的“儒将”，因此，颇为自负，总以为自己有战略眼光。但是，因为他不是蒋介石的嫡系，所以，宦海浮沉，一直只当个没有实权的幕僚。他常为自己“怀才不遇”而愤愤不平。不过，他始终没有放弃出人头地、一鸣惊人的抱负，一有机会他总爱向上递个条陈一类的东西，来显显他这个“宿将”的才干。抗日战争爆发后，他调来第一战区，当上了参谋长，他以为这“出人头地”的时机来临了。鉴于当时的战局：日寇气焰嚣张，步步进逼，国民党军队一触即溃，一逃千里，共产党领导的八路军在晋冀鲁豫开辟了根据地，他日夜冥思苦想，终于从故纸堆里得到了启发，想出了两条别出心裁的腹案，他先后两次向蒋介石上书，提出这两条腹案：一条叫“扒黄河”；一条叫“火烧长沙”。
蒋介石本来是个野心勃勃，刚愎凶残的反动家伙。台儿庄会战以后，全线大溃退，七十万军队被打得稀里哗啦。整个华北地区沦于敌手，上海失守，南京沦陷，武汉也危在旦夕。正在他焦头烂额，束手无策的时候，他收到了安景勋的这个“扒黄河”的行动计划。他立即批准了这个计划。他这一批不要紧，致使黄河千里怒涛，吞噬中原，四十四个县变成泽国，一千多万人流离失所，一百多万人在滔滔黄水中丧生。……
反动派之所以反动，根子在于他们的阶级本性，他们办事，脑子里就是没有“老百姓”这三个字。他们总以为群众可以愚弄，可以欺侮，可以当作鱼肉，可以任意宰割。其实人心乃是最伟大的力量，“人心向背”是改变社会的杠杆。人民眼泪流得多了，会变成汹涌的怒涛。当“万家墨面没蒿莱”的时候，蒋介石也就为他自己掘下了坟墓。
