《疯癫老人日记》描绘了一位“疯癫”老人在耄耋之年扭曲的爱。肉体上已衰竭的老人，通过对儿媳的思慕，来满足内心的情欲。这欲望令他时刻濒临死亡，然而他的愿望，仍是永远安息在刻有儿媳脚掌拓片的墓碑下。

《钥匙》描绘了一对中年夫妇间异样的较量，夫妇二人忽然开始了互相窥看日记的精神角力，在彼此间别有用心的默许和唆使下，夫妻关系逐渐脱离常轨，陷入沉沦。《疯癫老人日记》以交替剖白内心的方式描写人性的手法，对日本文学影响极其深远。

Author Description

谷崎润一郎（1886-1965），日本文学大师。著有长篇小说《细雪》，中篇小说《春琴抄》《疯癫老人日记》《钥匙》，短篇小说《刺青》，随笔《阴翳礼赞》等。

郑民钦，翻译家，学者。现任教于日本城西国际大学人文学部。译有《东京人》《春琴抄》《疯癫老人日记》《奥州小道》《政治少年之死》《源氏物语》等。

Book Abstract

假如这里有两位同样漂亮、同样适合我情趣的女人，A温柔、诚实、体贴，B粗鲁、撒谎、善骗。那么，哪一个对我更具有吸引力呢？就现在的我而言，无疑更喜欢B。当然，B的美丽绝不能在A之下。我对美丽有自己的喜好，容貌、身材等各个条件都要符合。我不喜欢鼻子高而长的脸蛋，最重要的是脚要白皙秀气。所有外在条件都相同的情况下，心地阴坏的女人更让我迷恋。有的女人时而流露出某种施虐性的表情，这是我无比喜欢的类型。不仅脸蛋，想到她具有这种残虐的心态，甚至希望她就是这样的女人。我从以前的泽村源之助的舞台扮相、法国电影《恶魔》中扮演女教师的西蒙·西涅莱的脸上、最近走红的炎加世子的脸上都发现这样的感觉。我想，也许她们实际上都是善良的女人，但如果她们是坏女人，与她们同居—即使做不到，哪怕住在她们附近，有机会接近她们—该是何等幸福啊！
……即使是坏心眼的女人，也不能将自己的恶劣本性暴露无遗。越坏越显得乖巧可心，这是必备条件。坏也有一定的界限，偷盗癖、杀人癖固然很伤脑筋，但也不是一概而论。当我明知某个女人会在我睡后行窃时，反而因此兴趣盎然，与其共枕，感觉无法抵御这种诱惑。
我大学有一个名叫山田湿的同班同学，是法学学士，原先在大阪市政府工作，早已过世。他的父亲是律师，曾在明治初期担任高桥阿传的辩护律师，时常给儿子讲述阿传有多么漂亮，那种漂亮可以说是妖冶，也可以说是妩媚，自己从未见过如此妖艳的女人，所谓妖妇，准确地说就是那样的女人。湿的父亲总是抓着儿子迫切地诉说心中的激情：就是被这样的女人杀死也心甘情愿！我这个岁数的人再活下去也不会有什么特别的事情，如果这世上出现阿传那样的女人，索性被她亲手杀死也许才最为幸福。比起现在这样忍受手脚疼痛半生不死的活法，至少想体验一横心被女人残酷杀死的方式。
我之所以爱飒子，莫非就是因为从她身上可以感觉到几分那种幻影吗？她有点坏心眼，有点刻薄，还有点爱撒谎。婆媳、妯娌之间相处不是很融洽，对孩子的关爱也很淡漠。刚结婚的时候还不是这个样子，这三四年变本加厉。这多少与我的挑拨教唆有关，把她调教成这个样子。其实她的本性并没有这么坏，现在大概还是心地善良的女人，只是后来逐渐学会装出一副坏模样，还引以自豪。她大概看出来这样做可以讨取老头的欢心。不知何故，我觉得她比我的女儿们更可爱，甚至不希望她和我的女儿们和睦相处，她越是对我的女儿们使坏，我对她越迷恋。
要是模拟雕刻观音菩萨或者势至菩萨的石佛，把她刻成飒子的容貌姿态，侍立在我的坟墓上，那该多好。反正我既不信神也不信佛，没有信仰，如果说我有神佛的话，那就是飒子。葬于飒子的立像之下乃是我的夙愿。
然而，如何付诸实施令我为难。这座石像要雕刻得谁也察觉不出以什么人作为模特儿，包括飒子本人以及净吉、老伴在内。为此，石像的容貌不能惟妙惟肖地酷似飒子，只能朦胧地体现她的外貌风韵。我不打算使用花岗岩石材，而想采用质地较软的松香石，这样线条不至过于鲜明清晰，尽量采取隐晦的表现手法。最好做到只有我，完全只是我一个人深谙其意，其他人蒙在鼓里。我这个想法未必不能实现。问题是请谁来制作这件作品呢？哪位雕刻家能够承担如此艰难的任务呢？平庸的雕匠在技术上无法胜任。可惜我没有一个雕刻家朋友，即使有这样的朋友，他也具有高超的技艺，一旦知道我出于什么目的要雕刻这样的石像，还能痛快地接受我的请求吗？他会心甘情愿地帮助我实现这个亵渎神佛的疯子般的方案吗？越是品格优秀的艺术家，大概越会断然拒绝吧？（而我没有恬不知耻地向别人提出这种厚颜要求的勇气，如果被人认为那个老头子已经发疯，我会羞愧得无地自容。）
我苦思冥想，发现有一个也许可行的方法。在石头上深雕佛像需要专家的高超技术，但如果线条浅雕的话，普通的石匠在一定程度上不是也可以做到吗？川胜的书上有一张上京区紫野今宫町今宫神社里线雕四面石佛的照片，文字解释说：“在大约二尺见方、称为加茂川吹上石的质地致密的硬砂岩的四面，线雕出四方佛，此雕刻法称为‘凿雕’。”“此为平安后期天治二年（一一二五）建造，我国石佛中纪年铭最早之文物。”此石四面皆刻有佛像，谓四方佛。该书刊载有阿弥陀如来、释迦如来、药师如来、弥勒菩萨等坐像的拓片照片，此外还有雕刻在蜻蛉石上的阿弥陀三尊石佛之一势至菩萨坐像的拓片照片。其解说文字云：“如本书插图所示，在高大的硬砂岩天然石头的三面，线雕有呈来迎之态的三尊佛，其中保存最好、容貌比较鲜明的是势至菩萨像，作为来迎的弥陀佛的胁侍，侍立云端，从天上斜对下界，姿态优美。跪坐合掌，天衣随风飘扬的形态充分营造出平安时代末期来迎艺术盛行时期的风格。”如来坐像均呈男性，结跏趺坐，但势至菩萨呈女性，双膝闭拢端坐。我尤其喜欢这尊菩萨……
我不需要四面佛这样的雕刻，有势至菩萨的一面佛足矣。所以不需要正方形的石头，仅在正面雕刻菩萨，有适当厚度的石头即可。背面只刻我的俗名和享年，如有必要，加上法号亦可。我对所谓的“凿刻”不知其详，小时候赶庙会，经常看见路边有卖护身符的摊位，摊主使用凿子似的刀具在黄铜护身符上扑哧扑哧凿出孩子的住址年龄姓名等，然后用极细的线条把字描画出来。这种凿法大概就是所谓的“凿刻”吧。如果是这样，看来并非高难的技术，而且不告诉工匠模特儿是什么人也照样可以凿出来。我先在奈良一带找一个佛像画师，让他模仿今宫神社的四面佛描绘出线雕势至菩萨像，然后向他提供飒子各种形态的容貌和姿态的照片，将其巧妙而不露痕迹地融到菩萨的相貌、身姿、四肢里。再把这张画交给凿刻师，按图线雕。这样完成的石佛作品，就不必担心别人会从中发现我不可告人的内心秘密。于是，我就可以躺在飒子菩萨像的下面，躺在头戴宝冠、胸垂璎珞、天衣飘飞的飒子的石像下面永远安息。
