Author Description

萧红（1911-1942）原名张迺莹。中国现代文学创造力突出的天才作家。生于黑龙江省哈尔滨市呼兰区。萧红一生坎坷，她幼年丧父，少年拒婚，东北沦陷后漂泊在哈尔滨、青岛、上海、东京、武汉、西安、重庆、香港等地。她跋涉文坛9年，年仅31岁离世，留下《呼兰河传》《小城三月》《生死场》《牛车上》《旷野的呼喊》等名篇，被誉为“30年代的文学洛神”，与吕碧城、石评梅、张爱玲并称为“民国四大才女”。鲁迅、茅盾、胡风等人都给予她高度评价。

花开了，就像花睡醒了似的。鸟飞了，就像鸟上天了似的。虫子叫了，就像虫子在说话似的。一切都活了。都有无限的本领，要做什么，就做什么。要怎么样，就怎么样。都是自由的。倭瓜愿意爬上架就爬上架，愿意爬上房就爬上房。黄瓜愿意开一朵谎花，就开一朵谎花，愿意结一根黄瓜，就结一根黄瓜。若都不愿意，就是一根黄瓜也不结，一朵花也不开，也没有人问它。玉米愿意长多高就长多高，它若愿意长上天去，也没有人管；蝴蝶随意地飞，一会从墙头上飞来一对黄蝴蝶，一会又从墙头上飞走了一只白蝴蝶。它们是从谁家来的，又飞到谁家去？太阳也不知道这个。
晚饭过后，火烧云上来了。霞光照得小孩子的脸红红的，大白狗变成红的了，红公鸡变成金的了，黑母鸡变成紫檀色的了。喂猪的老头儿在墙根站着，笑盈盈地看着他的两头小白猪变成小金猪了。他刚想说：“你们也变了……”旁边走来个乘凉的人，对他说：“您老人家必要高寿，您老是金胡子了。” 天上的云从西边一直烧到东边，红彤彤的，好像是天空着了火。这地方的火烧云变化极多，一会儿红彤彤的，一会儿金灿灿的，一会儿半紫半黄，一会儿半灰半百合色。葡萄灰，梨黄，茄子紫，这些颜色天空都有，还有些说也说不出来、见也没见过的颜色。一会儿，天空出现一匹马，马头向南，马尾向西。马是跪着的，像是在等人骑到它的背上，它才站起来似的。过了两三秒钟，那匹马大起来了。马腿伸开了，马脖子也长了，一条马尾巴可不见了。看的人正在寻找马尾巴，那匹马就变模糊了。忽然又来了一条大狗。那条狗十分凶猛，它在前面跑着，后边似乎还跟着好几条小狗。跑着跑着，小狗不知跑哪里去了，大狗也不见了。接着又来了一头大狮子，跟庙门前的大石头狮子一模一样，也是那么大，也是那么蹲着，很威武很镇静地蹲着。可是一转眼就变了，想要再看到那头大狮子，怎么也看不到了。一时恍恍惚惚的，天空里又像这个，又像那个，其实什么也不像，什么也看不清了。必须低下头，揉一揉眼睛，沉静一会儿再看。可是天空偏偏不等待那些爱好它的孩子。一会儿工夫，火烧云下去了。
他们过的是既不向前，也不回头的生活，是凡过去的，都算是忘记了，未来的他们也不怎样积极地希望着，只是一天一天地平板地、无怨无尤地在他们祖先给他们准备好的口粮之中生活着。
呼兰河这小城里边，以前住着我的祖父，现在埋着我的祖父。我生的时候，祖父已经六十多岁了，我长到四五岁，祖父就快七十了。我还没有长到二十岁，祖父就七八十岁了。祖父一过了八十，祖父就死了。从前那后花园的主人，而今不见了。老主人死了，小主人逃荒去了……
