Author Description

白桦，原名陈佑华。剧作家、电影剧作家、诗人、小说家。一九三○年出生于河南信阳市，一九四七年参军。一九五○年开始写作，一九五八年被划为“右派”。作品有：长诗《孔雀》、《鹰群》等；长篇小说《妈妈呀，妈妈！》、《哀莫大于心未死》、《远方有个女儿国》等；话剧《曙光》、《吴王金戈越王剑》等；电影剧本《山间铃响马帮来》、《今夜星光灿烂》等。作品曾以英、法、德、日等国文字在国外发表和出版。

《云南文学丛书：指尖情话》：
几乎有整一个白天，朱林生的马紧跟着小梨英的马尾，有时候朱林生吹着小竖笛，小梨英唱着赶马调；有时候他们对唱，冯廷贵在后面插一两句笑话……这一天，从形式上看，好像从第十匹马开始，就是另一个马帮了，好像小梨英和冯廷贵是一伙。
整个白天，萧五和魏福默无一言，只是吆喝马群。
又到黄昏了。
魏福回身向冯廷贵说：“冯大哥，你们今晚可住马店？”“你们可住？”冯廷贵没有回答他，反而问起他来了。
“我们今晚还是‘开亮’。”“我们也‘开亮’。你们在哪儿？”“我们就在这里。”他指着面前一块平坦的缅桂树林。
“我们也在这里。”“好，那好，热闹。”魏福说着心里暗想：“准是泡上我们了！”“热闹，只要别吵架。”“不会吵架了，我们交上朋友了。”魏福含着深意说。
缅桂花迎面飘来清香。缅桂开着象牙色的小花，花儿的形状像是女人头上插的玉簪头，永远是含苞待放的样子，但它是那么香啊！比任何花都要香而耐闻，城里的商人常常把每一朵缅桂的蒂上扭一根细铁丝，卖给女人们，女人们把它戴在衣襟上。在这里，谁也不稀罕去戴它，因为它太多了。
魏福和萧五照例首先抬下第十一匹马的驮子，然后再抬其它的驮子。
夜来了，是一个有着非常明媚月亮的夜。
小梨英干脆就不跟他们在一起，更不给他们做饭。
和昨夜相反，小梨英在今晚吃完了饭就躺在篝火边睡着了，因为她前两夜睡的时间都太短了。朱林生悄悄地给她盖好毯子，他在月光里看到她的脸，那整齐而长的睫毛安静的搭在下眼皮上，两个嘴角往上翘着，像在笑。
冯廷贵把朱林生叫到跟前，告诉他：“魏福有些企图摆脱我们，你今夜可别睡得太死，他们一起身，我们也起身。”朱林生检查了一下马的掌子以后，他爬上一棵缅桂，看了看树林的出路，悄悄地注视着那头两个坟堆似的黑影子。
他顺手摘了一把缅桂花，好像没事可做，用草开始把缅桂穿起来，费了半个时辰，编成了一个象牙项链一样的长长的花圈，他轻轻搬起小梨英的头，把花环套在她的项上。
然后，他又在缅桂树林里环视一遍，坐在驮子边，伸伸胳膊，睡了。
魏福和萧五在半夜真起来了，他俩悄声悄气地把驮架抬上马。魏福轻轻地走到小梨英身边，拍拍她的肩膀悄声说：“喂！走喽！我们走早些，今天就赶到逢春街了，赶到逢春街就给钱，让你回喇猛了，我再另找马……”“天还不亮！”小梨英揉揉眼睛不耐烦地坐起来。
“别吵醒人家，让他们睡吧！我们先走一步，牲口都备好了。”魏福悄悄地对她说。
“朱林生大哥！”小梨英小声叫着。魏福赶紧捂住她的嘴说：“别叫醒人家，人家累了！”朱林生哼了一声，又翻身睡了。其实他和冯廷贵并没睡着，魏福和萧五抬驮子都是他俩偷看着进行的。
魏福拖走了睡意蒙蒙的小梨英，萧五悄悄地捂着马铃，驱着马走了。马儿抖着身上的露珠，无可奈何地迈着蹄子。
马帮离开了，渐渐走远了，萧五就用力抽着头马，头马在月亮下撒开蹄子大跑着，所有的马都跟着狂奔起来，小梨英以为马儿惊了群，她叫着：“勒住！马惊了！”“让它们跑一会儿吧！跑跑能出汗，哈哈！”萧五狂笑起来，马帮越跑越快。
小梨英想：“朱大哥和冯大哥跟不上了！”朱林生和冯廷贵在他们走了以后，也很快爬起来了，收拾了马驮架上路了。冯廷贵在月光下能分辨出十多匹马新踏在驿道上的蹄迹，他俩拉下马沿着这些明显的蹄迹前进。
萧五抽着马一股气跑了三十多里山路才渐渐慢下来，他面前出现了三岔路口，他跳下马，让马帮停在路边上。他把马背上驮的两条毯子和十几条麻袋扯下来，在暗中把它们铺在岔往林间的小路上，然后拉着头马把马帮引着从他新铺的“地毯”上踏过去，再引上林间草地，他转回来小心地收了“地毯”，他就这样想消灭马的蹄迹和人的脚印，来混扰后来者的眼睛。
小梨英在马帮休息的时候，忽然嗅到了缅桂的香气，她发现了自己项上的缅桂花环，不用她猜，她就知道这是谁编给她的，她不由得独自微笑起来。她想起了朱林生和冯廷贵，“这两个诚实的大哥，怕还在睡吧！今儿他们是不能和我在一起了，唉！”她想着想着心里有些说不出的难过。
这时，马帮忽然转了方向，向一个树林岔去——离开了正路，她才意识到萧五是特意摆脱朱大哥和冯大哥。当她的马向林中迈第一步的时候，她想：“朱大哥他们一定会跟来。”她希望他们能跟来。她就在这一瞬间从项上取下缅桂花环，把它顺手挂在岔路口的树林上。
