我向前走，脱离黑漆漆的沉睡，发现自己被一群医生包围……他们全都是美国人。我感觉到他们的活力，毫无拘束，有如他们身上的体毛一般茂盛。我感觉到不怀好意的触摸，来自那些不怀好意的手——那是医生的手，如此强壮、干净并满是药味。虽然我几乎全身处于瘫痪状态，却发现我的眼珠可以转动。
