《结伴之家》：
放眼瞧去，其他人两两一对聊得火热。毕竟不是泡妞，聊得起劲儿也没用，来之前林森就想好了，可能的话，找最不顺眼的一个结伴，各过各的，互不干扰。走过去坐到对方旁边，仔细打量这位，身材还不错，只是脸蛋被面具遮着看不清。两个人聊几句，只有一点达成共识，那就是感觉对方不靠谱。但他们都不想再等两个月，公寓的居住条件实在不错，房租又低，没理由久拖不决。这样，互相看不上眼的两个人一拍即合，向对方及时投递出伪装的友好，背地里却恨不得踹上对方一脚。
蓝幼青，大学毕业两年，在一家外企工作。幼青有一些特殊，跟正常的女孩儿不一样。在小学一年级的时候，她发过一场高烧，本以为这是任何人都会发的那种高烧，不料这次生病改变了她的一生。同班的女生课间会讨论女孩儿间的小秘密，有同学管它叫大姨妈，有的叫它月经，有的还说是来事儿，不管是什么样的事儿，幼青压根儿都没有这件事儿，总感觉自己跟它一点关系都没有。每次被问起，她只是支支吾吾说不知道，别人还以为她面子薄不好意思。直到上了初中，家长才意识到问题的严重，带着她前前后后跑了多家医院检查，最后得到的结论基本相同——幼青的生殖系统早已停止发育，永远停留在小学一年级。这等于说幼青没有女性的能力，她不能像正常的女人那样结婚生子，甚至，完全不能有性生活。

幼青长得漂亮，虽然既没有前凸，也不见得后翘，但是身材苗条，一米六七的个子，五十公斤，不胖不瘦刚刚好。很多人说她长得清丽，她自己对这一点也并不质疑，一张脸蛋长得干干净净，至于什么样是干干净净，就像是雨后的天空，周围飘着淡淡的青草香。幼青心地善良，善良到哪种程度，举一个简单的例子，如果她买东西的时候被老板找了假钱，一定选择默默把假钱撕掉，而不去找老板理论要求退钱，她会认为对方也是受害者，如果一定要有人去承受损失，那么她宁可是自己。
算起来她的优点还真有不少，可是，优点虽然很多，却也弥补不了一个缺陷，那样一个缺陷的存在，会令她所有的光彩黯然失色。在大家看来，女性不能结婚生子，人生就算废了。还想怎么样，还能怎么样？一点商量余地都没有！蚂蚁能跟大象比力气吗，能，但是一定会输。蚂蚁不服气，可是大象却只跟它比力气，那又能有什么办法呢，周围就是这个蛮横的样子。
在逻辑上，她认为自己应该这么想，这么想才是她作为一个女性应该持有的得失观念。如果非要把痛苦硬塞给她，也不是不能接受。好像有一个声音高高在上地说——蓝幼青，你应该痛苦！好吧，那就索性痛苦。痛苦，这两个字她不是很了解，不开心过、气恼过、也失落过。痛苦？她还不够清楚，需要时间去弄清楚来龙去脉，就算给自己一个交代。虽然她不清楚为什么要给自己一个这样莫名其妙的交代，但是她知道自己跟别人不同，莫名其妙，也许就对了。
在小学时代，她有一个梦想，就是找到自己的爱情，即使那时候她还不知道什么是爱情，也不知道爱情的代价。直到初中二年级，得知自己的身体情况后，她感觉那棵刚刚在春天萌发出来的幼苗被命运移植到寒冬，退化成了一粒种子，紧紧地蜷缩着身体。从此，她再也没有跟任何人说起过，也不知道怎么办，身边都是正常得不能再正常的人，没有任何成例可以参考。
后来，读到莫里斯·梅特林克的《昆虫物语》，她连续哭了三个晚上，觉得自己跟白蚁的遭遇太像了。白蚁生存的环境需要湿气，却生活在赤道地区这样干燥的地域，有时候七八个月里面，甚至连一滴雨都不会下。更矛盾的却是，白蚁对生活在赤道这种阳光异常充足的地域有着不可救药的偏执，事实上，一旦暴露在太阳光之下，它们就会立刻死亡。
她自己呢，梦想着得到自己的爱情？可是她知道，一旦爱情降临，必然会在瞬间死去。虽然她曾拒绝过很多追求她的男人，让他们知难而退，或者当众难堪，但幼青知道，没有人能够真正接受她这样的女人，换做自己变成男人，恐怕也无法接受那样的自己。
在命运面前，她产生了一种无力感，连续三天不吃饭，都不曾产生过的无力感。一直以来，她生活在矛盾之中，这一矛盾下来，已经二十七岁了。为了逃避周围的压力，她不得不把自己装扮成一个来去自由的独身主义者，在结伴之家，可以堂而皇之地不恋爱、不结婚，不受到非议，简直可以说是为她量身打造的。
所以，幼青来到这里，是心安理得的。
