Author Description

渡边淳一（1933－2014），日本著名文学大师、国民作家。1933年生于北海道，毕业于札幌医科大学，曾任骨科医生，后弃医从文，从事专业文学创作。以小说《光和影》获直木文学奖，以《遥远的落日》获吉川英治文学奖，2003年获日本政府“紫绶褒章奖”。2014月4月30日，渡边淳一因癌症逝世，享年80岁。次年，日本宣布设立“渡边淳一文学奖”，以表纪念，首届奖项将于2016年颁出。渡边淳一一生共发表130多部作品，代表作为《失乐园》，畅销600万本，其中描写的不伦性爱，引发巨大反响，并相继被拍成电视剧和电影，在日本掀起了“失乐园”热。其他代表作包括将现代情爱观融入日本古典美的《化妆》，“爱与性”主题的《红城堡》，临终遗作、最后一部自传体小说《我永远的家》等。作为网友评选出的排名第一的日本对华友好人士，渡边淳一对日本政府不肯反省侵略战争予以严厉批判，显示了一位伟大文学家对历史应有的自觉与责任感。

女人的手
全美国外科学会的病例报告中，最令人注目的是一位三十五岁男子右手的移植手术。
男子K先生，是美国底特律某钢板公司的设计师。有一天，一台钢筒的切割机发生了故障，他奉命去修理，检查结果是切割的**角度发生偏差，于是他便动手调正，这时控制室里的操作员误按了机器键钮，于是K先生的右手从手腕处便被齐齐地切断了。
**长1.5米，十分锐利，所以K先生的手一瞬间便掉进了机器下的油污中，甚至连感到痛的时间都没有。
K先生想动手指却没了知觉，这才感到自己的手没有了，又见鲜血洪水似的从手腕中涌出。
马上有人停机，同时有人用手帕捂住他的断腕，但动脉断了，那血是无法捂得住的，K先生于是用手托着自己的断腕朝工厂医务室奔去。
可是那工厂的医务室里，医生不是常在的，医务室里只有一张供人不适作休息用的病床，以及一些感冒药、止痛药什么的普通药物而已。
所幸车间主任以前也经历过这种事故，于是有些经验的他便用纱布将K先生的手腕紧紧扎住，勉强止住了出血，马上叫了救护车朝附近的医院送去。
当时由于慌忙，忘了那只被切下的断手。事后，有人从机器下的油污中捡起那手送去医院，但那手五指伸开，也不见出血，已是满手黑兮兮的油污了。
医院采取了临时急救措施，将切断的血管扎住，神经与肌肉暂且不动，只将皮肤盖住断面缝住，然后便将K先生与那只断手一起送到离工厂三公里的州立医科大学的医院做进一步的抢救治疗。
学会上发表的手术报告，便是那州立医科大学的医院里所做的右手移植手术报告。那断手结果不能用，再植的是一位四十二岁死于心脏病的女性的手。
当然，这种场合最理想的是患者本人的手。但K先生的手已沾满油污，而且切断时被**严重损伤，有不少横七竖八的伤口，不能再使用了。
同时，凑巧那女病人一直因心肌梗塞住在医院里，在K先生入院两小时前突然病情发作过世了。于是该医院的外科医生便随机应变，考虑用那女性的手，马上与家属商量。那女病人的父亲也是钢铁公司的职员，所以很好商量，一切问题都十分顺利地解决了。
于是，奇迹便产生了，三十五岁的男子手腕上移植了一只四十二岁女性的手。
以前这所医院也做过断肢再植的各种手术，而且这次担任手术的加顿教授又是美国手臂外科的著名专家。
由加顿教授主持，皮肤、肌肉、神经、血管一丝不苟地缝接，手术整整做了四个小时。
手术结束，放松K先生手臂上的纱布绷带，血一下子流入再植的手中，在场的医生护士激动得顾不上摘去橡胶手套，便相互紧紧地握手庆贺起来。
一般来说，四肢移植的病人神经、血管、肌肉等总有一些不吻合的地方，以致引起病人行动障碍，可K先生的手术却意外地成功，除了手指的力量有些不够之外，几乎与好手一般无二。这是神经、血管什么的缝合得天衣无缝的证据。这是断肢再植手术史上的奇迹。
会场上，放映了K先生用他那再植的手握着棒头干活，握着刀叉就餐，握着钢笔写字等等的录像。
而且还放了他本人的一段录音：“自己感到再植的手与以前的手没什么两样，对提供给自己手的人表示衷心的感谢……”
会场上的医生们也不由得十分感动，录像放映结束，全场响起热烈的掌声。
加顿教授当然更是满面红光，神采奕奕的了。接着学会的主持人向大家问道：“有什么问题要提问吗？”话音刚落，加利福尼亚医科大学的尼克罗斯教授便举手要求发言了。
尼克罗斯教授首先介绍了自己长年进行断肢再植尝试的一点心得，接着便说道：“我非常感兴趣和敬佩地听了刚才的手术报告。这实在是一个十分成功的手术，可以说是断肢再植手术登上一个新高峰的里程碑。不过，移植的是别人的手，我总感到会有什么后遗症或与原来的手有所不同的地方吧？”
听了尼克罗斯教授的提问，身材瘦小但十分精悍的加顿教授便站起身来，他首先感谢尼克罗斯对手术的高度评价，接着便开始切入正题。
“如教授想的一样，确实是有后遗症，或者说是与天生的手有所不同的地方。”
会场里一下子静了下来，加顿教授口气不紧不慢地接着道：
“从录像里大家或许也已注意到，三十五岁的男人移植了四十二岁女性的手，所以看上去那手显得太白嫩。”
会场里有人轻轻地点头表示说得有道理。
“而且，还有一点，是他本人对我说的，他去厕所小便，每次小便结束，那只女性的手总是不肯马上罢手，这实在是有些小麻烦……”
突然，不知是谁发出了一声轻轻的笑声，马上，像受到了传染似的，整个会场笑声如海啸般地高涨起来。
只有加顿教授一人，满脸正经，一点也没有笑意。
“本来，我想慢慢会好的，可事实上好像那手已成了习惯，看来一朝一夕是好不了的了。”
当时在学会上，真正相信加顿教授的话的医生，肯定是没有的。
不过，也许大多数读者却是会有些相信的。但是我们的折居亮介先生听了这事后，本能地感到这话有些下流，随后便明白这其实只是一则笑话。
这样认为，首先因为他本人就是断肢再植的外科医生。
这些话尽管编得有声有色，但专家一听便可听出其中的漏洞来。
首先，至今为止，心脏、肝脏有可能移植，但四肢的移植，即使是医学最先进的美国，也还从没有过成功的先例。
本来四肢的骨头、皮肤等局部的移植很早以前就有过成功的例子，但这都要本人的骨头或皮肤，即所谓同体移植。用别人的东西移植成功的技术，目前还是无法实现的。
特别是报告中说的手腕，中间有骨头，周围有血管、神经、肌肉、皮肤等等，这些东西全部吻合得天衣无缝是不可能的，况且别人的手，又是男人与女人之别，血管的粗细就大不相同。要将这手移植成功，实际上是不可能的事情。
本来，动物有高级低级之分，划分的标准便是以动物本身的机体再生能力的强弱来决定的。
譬如，海星不管你怎样将它切断分开，它总能再长成原来的样子。再生能力越强，就说明这动物越低级。反过来，人的各个器官一旦损伤，不要说长成原来样子了，不引起生命危险便已是上上大吉。所以类似人这样再生的能力越低，就越说明人类是高级的动物。
具体再说到四肢上，骨头、皮肤、肌肉有着比较强的再生能力，相比较它们就显得比较低级；神经、血管、经络等的再生能力很弱，它们就显得是高级的器官组织了。
再说内脏，肝脏再生能力强，大脑再生能力低，由此也可比出孰高孰低来。
实际上，脏器移植的话，某些再生能力强、反应迟钝的脏器或组织就比较容易移植。
