Introduction

本书是为初学产业组织理论的学生编写的入门教材。产业组织理论是以企业行为、政府管制和竞争政策为分析对象的现实的、实用的学问，常给人较难理解的印象。为此，为了能让初学者愉快地学习，我们最大限度地对问题进行了解析。
在阅读本书时，我们不要求学生必须具备微观经济学的知识，同时，我们还将数学公式的使用降到最低程度，尽量用数据和图表来说明；为了让同学们理解理论和现实政策之间的关系，使其成为现实的、实用的教材，我们尽量做到多列举现实事例，详细解读理论是如何体现在政策当中的。
基于此，笔者认为，本书是一本较为实用的产业组织理论入门教材。不仅适用于经济系的学生，而且还适用于企业管理系和商学系中对企业行为的理论基础感兴趣的同学，更适用于法学系对政府管制及竞争政策关注的学生。
本书虽为初学者的入门教材，但是其内容反映了产业组织理论中的最新动向。同时在本书编写的过程中，我们采取了几种不同方法，以区别以往的类似书籍。
首先，在本书第1章里，我们将“产业组织理论的历史及课题”作为一章来设置，就是要说明产业组织理论是在什么样的历史背景下产生的，如何随着时代的发展而变化。这样，通过对本章的学习，读者就能够了解产业组织理论是为解决什么样的问题而产生和发展的。
其次，本书的编写不站在特定的学派立场，而是以“现实”的产业组织理论的视角进行论述。详情请看本书第1章。在产业组织理论中，有哈佛学派、芝加哥学派、新产业组织理论、新实证产业组织理论等派别，每个学派的主张各不相同。因此，在日本出版的产业组织理论教材中，有些偏向于某一特定学派，而产业组织理论本身就是各学派不断争论、验证是非而发展起来的。在思考产业组织理论的发展历史上，我们认为，过于偏向特定学派的教材不适合初学者。
