Author Description

其他版本的多维空间需要你靠近一颗大型恒星来实现跳跃，如果你旁边没有巨大的引力源，跳跃可能会被扭曲。海因莱因在一些故事中允许无穷多的跳跃，小心地控制进入跳跃前的速度和轨迹可以改变跳跃的出口。而其他人，比如弗雷德里克·波尔在他的系列小说《冲出黑暗天》（Heechee）中则只有少数几个超空间通路，每个都只有固定的出口。出口可能是在有人居住的世界旁边，也可能紧挨着一个黑洞的边缘。
而有些书中的多维空间甚至不需要宇宙飞船。那些书中，在行星表面有“大门”或者“隧道”，只要穿过正确的地点，走向正确的方向，就可以到达另一个行星的表面了。
