我和卡洛刚看完东南亚的《畸恋》，出得电影院，竟是阳光郁郁，地上半湿半干的已经下过一场雨了。

一个不留神，坐上了右转的〇南，卡洛是要回后车站的家，我则要去武昌街的金金替妹妹挑生日礼物，我们赶忙拉铃在台大下车，两人气急败坏地跺着脚，却又直忍不住地要笑。

我们并着肩默默地走着。红砖路刚被雨水冲刷成干干净净的红色，高大的相思树和尤加利，把整条路给遮得凉凉绿绿的，是一种很好喝的空气。

卡洛不说话，我不知道她在想什么，不知道是不是跟我想的一样，电影不好，而且是很不好，外国毕竟还是有跟本土片一样糟糕的片子的，可是那一幕幕的阳光、蓝海……真叫人想丢开一切，过个他们十七岁女孩子过的生活，读自己喜欢读的书，做自己喜欢做的事，吃饭，睡觉，恋爱，生活……

我看了卡洛一眼，她正偏着头，隔着栏杆望园里的一切。我忽然有股无名的悲哀，卡洛的功课很好，在班上总是那几个逐鹿中原的一个。我跟她还是在这高二下学期才熟起来的，我们一碰头总不外谈政治国事、两人的抱负理想，她要读政治，我则是新闻，我们曾经狠狠地发过誓。此刻我却觉得她离我好远，她是园子里的那一群，是坐在草坪上看书的女孩，是走在椰林道上裙裾飘飘的大学生。

然而功课对于我似乎一点意义都没有了。今天早上走过班上的布告栏，我虽然没缴这次月考的总分单，但还是瞄了一眼排名表，最后一名还多上我两分。我继续地走着，到厕所洗了个手，再回来，坐到位子上依然看我的《瓦德西拳乱笔记》。

已经不是第一次了，上次月考也是在末末，我不晓得自己为什么要这样做，就是不碰书，就是不甘心老老实实地拿起书来，然后到了考试那一天再翻，紧张的，不要命的，连抬着便当箱也要边走边翻从来没打开过的狄克森，我最讨厌这种人的！

我也会难过，例如考数学时，我总觉得格外的孤独，像是失业了，看着同学埋头地写，我竟没法下笔，因为不知道什么是赛因扣赛因。

晚上妹妹过生日，我们各自拿出了礼物，看到她好久没现过的笑脸，大家都好高兴，和和气气了一晚上。

妹妹正在最紧张的初三时候，却是见了书就打盹，也不是个读书料。我每次看完电视上楼，总见她穿着制服在床上睡成了个大字形，开着大亮的灯，和一室的平安夜。她功课本不太好，升了三年级更加退步了，后来从她导师那儿才知道她认识了个同学校的男孩子。一次晚上爸爸跟她聊得很晚，她支着额头哭得肩膀抖抖的，我立在门口都愣住了。我记得上一次她哭的时候是小学时，我们两个骑着新单车上街，碰到两个野男孩瘪车，我们是一向很有家教的，到底被他们的无理取闹给弄火了，打了一架，我的脚踝淌着血一拐一拐地走，妹妹推着龙头给撞得七歪八扭的新车，眼泪爬了一脸。
