Author Description

苇岸，原名马建国，诗人，散文作家，自然之子，自称是“为了这个星球的现在与未来自觉地尽可能减少消费”的人。
1960年1月7日出生于北京市昌平县北小营村，1978年考入中国人民大学一分校哲学系，翌年春正式入学，并接触朦胧诗。1986年，经海子推荐读到《瓦尔登湖》，受此书影响，由诗歌彻底转向散文创作。1988年，开始写作开放性系列散文作品《大地上的事情》。1998年在其居住的小区东部田野的一个固定位位置，对同一画面拍摄一张照片，开始二十四节气的写作。1999年5月19日19时，因肝癌医治无效辞世。终年三十九岁。
苇岸著有《大地上的事情》（中国对外翻译出版公司，1995年）、《太阳升起以后》（2000年）、《上帝之子》（2001年）、《最后的浪漫主义者》（2009年）等作品，其散文被选入多种语文教材。
新版的《大地上的事情》首度收入苇岸历时一年拍摄的二十四节气照片，并第一次从自然文学的角度对苇岸的写作以及日记进行了编选。

我观察过蚂蚁营巢的三种方式。小型蚁筑巢，将湿润的土粒吐在巢口，垒成酒盅状、灶台状、坟冢状、城堡状或松疏的蜂房状，高耸在地面；中型蚁的巢口，土粒散得均匀美观，围成喇叭口或泉心的形状，仿佛大地开放的一只黑色花朵；大型蚁筑巢像北方人的举止，随便、粗略、不拘细节，它们将颗粒远远地衔到什么地方，任意一丢，就像大步奔走撒种的农夫。

下雪时，我总想到夏天，因成熟而褪色的榆荚被风从树梢吹散。雪纷纷扬扬，给人间带来某种和谐感，这和谐感正来自于纷纭之中。雪也许是更大的一棵树上的果实，被一场世界之外的大风刮落。它们漂泊到大地各处，它们携带的纯洁，不久即繁衍成春天动人的花朵。

写《自然与人生》的日本作家德富芦花，观察过落日。他记录太阳由衔山到全然沉入地表，需要三分钟。我观察过一次日出，日出比日落缓慢。观看日落，大有守侍圣哲临终之感；观看日出，则像等待伟大英雄辉煌的诞生。仿佛有什么阻力，太阳艰难地向上跃动，伸缩着挺进。太阳从露出一丝红线，到伸缩着跳上地表，用了约五分钟。

这是一具熊蜂的尸体，它是自然死亡，还是因疾病或敌害而死，不得而知。它偃卧在那里，翅零乱地散开，肢蜷曲在一起。它的尸身僵硬，很轻，最小的风能将它推动。我见过胡蜂巢、土蜂巢、蜜蜂巢和别的蜂巢，但从没有见过熊蜂巢。熊蜂是穴居者，它们将巢筑在房屋的立柱、檩木、横梁、椽子或枯死的树干上。熊蜂从不集群活动，它们个个都是英雄，单枪匹马到处闯荡。熊蜂是昆虫世界当然的王，它们身着的黑黄斑纹，是大地上最怵目的图案，高贵而恐怖。老人们告诉过孩子，它们能蜇死牛马。

麻雀在地面的时间比在树上的时间多。它们只是在吃足食物后，才飞到树上。它们将短硬的喙像北方农妇在缸沿砺刀那样，在枝上反复擦拭。麻雀蹲在枝上啼鸣，如孩子骑在父亲的肩上高声喊叫，这声音蕴含着依赖、信任、幸福和安全感。麻雀在树上就和孩子们在地上一样，它们的蹦跳就是孩子们的奔跑。而树木伸展的愿望，是给鸟儿送来一个个广场。
