《处处莲花开》：
它的动作那样轻巧温柔，它吃了蜜后就翩翩起飞，飞到另一朵花上，好像吃够了，就飞出墙外、飞过枝头，往远处逸去了。
那只蝴蝶吃花蜜，既没有执著，也没有陷入；既不迷恋，也不留连；那样美、自由、潇洒，使我为之震动。
再回来看那些花，香依然、色依然、花形也依然，丝毫也看不出被“采花”的痕迹。花是这样美丽，蝴蝶采花也是一样的美丽呀！我想起从前一个朋友告诉我的，那叫做“蝴蝶之吻”，蝴蝶之吻是轻轻的、温柔的，有如眼睫毛飘落在脸颊。
蝴蝶之吻是吻者与被吻者都不受到伤害，都能感受到互相亲近的美。
蝴蝶之吻是轻巧的，行于所当行，止于所当止，随时保持着自由与飞翔。蝴蝶之吻是细致的，但取其味、不损色香，被吻过的花依然是美，甚至更美。蝴蝶与花朵就是那样轻轻地吻着呀！仿佛前世斯文的约定。
2我想到小时候最喜欢玩的游戏，就是“拈蜻蜓”和“拈蝴蝶”。
看到蜻蜓憩于枝桠，或蝴蝶停驻花上，我们就蹑步走近，像一只猫那样轻巧，然后以拇指或食指拈住蜻蜓的尾巴或蝴蝶的翅膀。
蜻蜒是很容易拈到的，因为它一停下来就像是老僧入定。
蝴蝶可就很难很难拈到，蝴蝶总像云水的禅师，随时准备要起飞，保持着醒觉的状态。
美丽的蝴蝶一飞起，我们往往搓着拇指和食指惊呼，那惊呼中有惋惜，更多的是赞叹！那种轻巧、敏捷、清醒，也是蝴蝶之吻呀！常常会被拈到尾巴的是蜻蜒之吻，是因为太执迷了。
3还有各种不同的吻。
会把别的众生吃掉的，叫做“癞蛤蟆之吻”或是“蜥蜴之吻”。
会把与自己最亲密的伴侣吃掉的叫做“蜘蛛女之吻”。
走起路来地动山摇，吃起东西胃口奇大，好像一张口可以吞下地球，最后自己绝种的叫做“恐龙之吻”！4“癞蛤蟆之吻”与“蜥蜴之吻”是丑陋的、粗鲁的、赤裸裸的，我们看有些公共政策大致是这种吻法，看到猎物就迎上前去，一阵吐舌席卷，乱吃一气。
于是台北盆地一片地裂天崩、肝肠寸断，如果坐直升机在空中巡视一圈，会以为是世纪末刚刚受到什么怪兽凌虐的灾区。
“蜘蛛女之吻”则是血腥的、残暴的、没有羞耻的，台湾的文艺、电影、文化大致是这种吻法。如果我们写的书没有人要看，我们就大可宣称读者已死，或者说现代人没有文学心灵，然后在年终，我们再集合一些人选出十大“好书”、十大“有影响力的书”、十大“石破天惊的书”，吸引那些尚未死心的读者，来把他们一起杀死，因为他们如果依靠那些专家选的书，阅读的兴趣必死无疑。
为什么那些人要以吻死读者为己任，置读者的兴趣于度外呢？为什么他们不能了解，对作家来说，读者是最好的伴侣呢？
