《林散之年谱》逐年逐月记录了林散之先生从出生到逝世九十余年的生命历程，详细记述了林老求学、交游、创作等的经历，对林散之先生的艺能做了全面的扫描和记录，资料详尽扎实，对于研究者、收藏者全面认识林散之先生的艺术才华，完整了解林散之先生的艺术创生命，深入认知中国当代美术史，具有重要的资料价值和典藏价值。

Book Abstract

“大祖父林成兴十八岁投军，在军中结义兄弟九人，龄最小，人称'林老九'，赐巴图鲁，封建威将军，驻大同镇守雁门三关。以威猛刚介遭仇家暗杀，殒于任所，归葬祖籍乌江七棵松老茔。（《清明上坟诗》：'同治中兴忆伯父，干城之器力如虎。节制三关居雁门，出入严卫巴图鲁。'《江上诗存·卷十六1944-1945年》）”我们的祖父和二祖父林成璧是双胞胎，祖父天性诚厚，无意功名，又不善理庶务，惟以读书消遣。
祖父先娶黄氏，早亡，遗有二女。后于三十五岁时续娶和县名门吴氏女，就是我们的祖母。婚后第二年，清光绪二十四年（1898年），祖母在江家坂大宅首胎生下我们的父亲。时祖父已三十六岁，中年得独子，举家欢欣。
“大祖父在任上，家政由二祖父成璧掌管。大祖母带着一个儿子住江家坂宅。二祖父有三个儿子，整个大家庭有三十多口人。”[注]蒲圩，属江苏省江浦县林山乡，距乌江大桥之北三华里。林山乡位于县境西南，南临长江，西至驻马河，与安徽和县乌江镇为邻，总面积57.2平方公里。
七棵松老茔，位于和县乌江镇百姓塘村前山洼，古云：“前山洼，前山洼，青天白日鬼打架。”距乌江镇西北五华里。
林成璧有三子一女，长子林以韩（介存、浩存），次子林以濡（静泉），女名不详，排行为二姑。三子不详。
由于林成兴遗留之子早亡，因此林成璧长子林以韩成为长兄，林以濡为仲兄。（林散之《秋怀十二首》云：“我家有长兄（林介存），古道尚真朴。仲兄字静泉（亡兄林以濡，行二）娟娟绝可怜。”）林成璋有子女五人，长女为大姑（林散之姐夫范期仁之妻），二女为三姑，林散之的两个妹妹为四姑、五姑（林以霞）；整个大家庭有三十多口人。林散之在叔伯兄弟中排行第五，遂呼“小五子”。后来人们又尊称他为“林五先”即“林五先生”的简称。
一八九九一一九○二清·光绪二十五年一二十八年二岁一五岁自三岁始，喜案头涂鸦。五岁能对物写生，喜塑泥人。患中耳炎，致左耳微聋，遗疾终身。一九。三一一九一。清·光绪二十九年一宣统二年六岁一十三岁人村塾读书，取名“以沃”，寻改“以霖”。课余喜作画自娱。能为村邻书写春联，字体端正有楷法。
【按】《诗稿自序》：“余少也钝，六岁入塾，读《毛诗》三年不能卒业。然于盛唐诸家诗，心窃好之，好而读，读而爱心生。师授以唐诗三百首，喜而藏之，无事即吟，久之成习。又授沈约四声之法，并教以属对，先一字、五字、七字，从此粗知诗之所以为诗矣。”（1978年7月20日）在一亲戚家墙上画一条丈余长的大驴。
【按】林筱之《林散之轶事·一、何时成器》：“我的父亲十二岁那年，有位干爸爸叫庆老五，家住乌江庆家窑村，一天，其子结婚喜气临门，他家室内外，锅上灶下，粉刷一新。我的祖父母到亲家去参加婚礼，祖父执意不肯带儿子去，嫌他顽皮，要他在家攻读诗书。父亲吵闹不休，跟前跟后，祖母心软，就说：'不要闹，我带你去就是了。'当时农村惯例，至亲都是结婚正期前一天上门吃'贺号'酒。庆府内外，热闹极了。时已初更，客人睡去，此时庆府非常安静，独有我的童年的父亲若有所思，不肯入睡，他轻轻地取了瓦工绘制锅灶用的黑灰，站上桌子，用刷把在堂屋粉白粉白的墙上画了一头肥壮的大黑驴。它精神抖擞，奔叫若狂，似乎也在为新郎助兴。画成后，自我欣赏一番，洋洋得意。时已午夜，这才扪头睡去，不知东方已白。清晨，主客起床，一见墙上这条驴，真是有气的有笑的，这个说：'谁画的画，画活了！'那个说：'画得精神。'也有人说：'人家喜事，这是谁在过不去！'主人庆老五也被弄得啼笑皆非，一查问是十二岁的干儿子画的，说也说不得，骂也骂不得，把我的祖父母气坏了。主人只好一边安排当天的迎亲杂务，一边急急找瓦工把这方墙重新粉刷，忙了半天，才算完工。这一次回家后，父亲被罚了跪，还被祖父狠狠责打了一顿，并向父亲说：'我这一房只有你这一个儿子，将来顶门立户，全倚靠你，你这样顽皮不争气，真气死我了！你何时成器！何时成器！！'我的祖母护着跪在地上的父亲，喊：'不要打了，不要打了，小五子（我父亲的乳名），以后改啦！好好读书，要争气……'我的父亲也不知是打的疼，还是悔恨自己，只是含泪跪泣，不出一言。”（《扬子晚报》

2003年南京市政协H{版《金陵书坛四大家》，有林散之书艺系年，对林老生平艺术活动等作分年简述。唯资料尚觉不足，未能全面概括林老一生事迹。今邵川先生广访林老生前亲朋好友，大量收集有关材料，作较详尽之年谱，汇为一集，得三十万言，为后人了解林老一生文艺活动事业和为艺术而奋斗的精神起着指点作用。邵川是林老家乡密友邵子退老之孙，幼承家学，更得林老指导，对林老有很深的感情。此次为林老详编年谱，工作极为认真投入，务求每事都有确凿依据。此集诚为研究林老学术的重要资料书，其出版必有利于林老艺术之进一步弘扬，谨为序。
