Book Abstract

笔者提出的观点是，如果完全以个人效用的视角研究，那么效用一定要被赋予意义。通常效用主义视角下认为人都是符合理性经济人模型，当然人们不总符合模型。即使他们小心谨慎地、在充分了解事实的基础上考虑过要做什么，并做到了原来决定做的事，但是他们实际上还是做了许多本不该做的事。经历决定行为及深思熟虑的决定，但是如果人们的确符合简单理性选择模型，并用其作为判定对于他们个人什么是最好的标准，我们可以问他们将做什么。
不确定性指要求个人在不同的环境下选择他想要的生活，如果在不确定条件下考虑选择，许多关于记忆、预期等的困难将得以避免，这些困难使得一直在追求效用之和最大化的理性人模型似乎不真实。这种推导效用的方法已经成为许多学术著作的主题。毕竟为可能的世界赋予可能性是很自然的，并且消费者有时会加入到深思熟虑的保险合同中。在许多情形下，不确定性条件下的实际决定表现出与效用模型并不十分符合，甚至当对相关可能结果没有明显的疑问的时候。不确定条件下做决定的技巧罕见并且需要训练不足为奇。考虑概率奖券中的二者择一的只有一个会实际发生的选择的价值是，考虑到没发生的那个情况，对没发生的情况所做的计划表面上对考虑偏好无影响。然而，它在计量效用的思想实验中还是会发生。
