Author Description

王福重，知名经济学家，中央财经大学教授。经济学博士，北京大学理论经济学博士后、中国世界经济学会理事。曾任北京航空航天大学国际贸易系主任。主要研究领域为经济学和金融学基础理论、国际经济。在《金融研究》等学术杂志发表中英文论文100余篇，代表性论文有：“基于t-分布下外债利率风险的VAR度量模型”“外包对中国软件业国际竞争力影响的计量分析”“中国外汇储备规模和归属性质研究”等。
有专著10余部，包括《金融的解释》《人人都爱经济学》《写给中国人的经济学》《公平中国》等畅销书。主要译著有：《经济学基础》（EssentialsofEconomics，第4版到第7版），并且为经济管理类畅销图书《思考：快与慢》《凯恩斯革命》《赤裸裸的经济学》《超爆魔鬼经济学》《一切皆有价》《信号与噪声》《当增长停止》《数据化决策》等作序。

《纯粹经济学：王福重经济学十九讲》：
假如，你也获得了10000单位的钻石，第一单位，当然是戴在身上炫耀，钻石是奢侈品，不是为了实用，而是为了虚荣：第二单位，我无法想象你准备怎么用，对剩余的其他单位，我也不得而知。但是，对最后一单位，也就是第10000单位，我们也假定你把它抛洒在空中。
每个人，都撒过水，可以说，水满足了我们所能想象的所有用途或者效用。
而谁见过扔钻石的呢？没有。钻石大概只能满足一种用途，也就是虚荣心。
根据边际效用递减的原理，排在前面的效用大，后面的效用小。水可以满足我们非常靠后的包括最小的欲望，于是，它的边际效用很小，甚或没有。而钻石只满足了我们一个欲望，只排了一个，其边际效用当然很大。因为边际效用决定价值，所以，钻石贵而水便宜。均衡价格
边际效用理论虽然解决了难题，但是也引发了经济学价值理论的分裂，到底是客观的、供给的因素，如劳动、资本、土地等决定价值，还是主观的边际效用决定价值？
马歇尔出来收拾了这个残局。首先，在《经济学原理》中，马歇尔把价值和价格统一了，价值就是价格，没有必要迂回地通过认识价值来认识价格，可以直接理解价格，此后的经济学就不再刻意区分价值和价格。这一点需要读者特别注意。
其次，马歇尔采取了折中的办法，他认为，价格既与供给有关，也与边际效用有关，即与需求有关，是两者共同作用决定的。供给和需求都不是单纯的数，而是函数。供给，是价格和供给量的关系的函数，反映的是生产者的行为。
注意，供给并不是生产，生产是一种行为，供给却是一个函数。在供给中，凝结着劳动、土地、资本，以及马歇尔自己加上的“企业家才能”，即企业家具有的组织、领导、创新的能力。
在供给量和价格的关系中，价格是自变量，因为价格首先变化，企业根据价格变化调整供给量。一般来说，价格越高，供给量就越大，因为价格提高，供给的越多，生产者的好处就越大。
需求也不是购买，购买是行为，需求是函数。需求是价格和需求量之间的关系，反映的是消费者的行为。需求中，凝结着效用、边际效用、偏好等因素。一般来说，价格越高，需求量就越小。如果价格过高，供给量就会超过需求量，出现过剩、积压。因为这时的价格，超出了消费者对商品的主观评价。生产者将选择降价，降价一方面使供给量下降，另～方面使需求量增加，供求的差距缩小。如果价格过低，需求量就会超过供给量，出现供不应求，人们拿钱买不到东西，发生抢购。因为这时商品的价格低于消费者的主观评价，即使以比现在更高的价格买，也是合算的，于是必然有人愿意出更高的价格，价格上涨，也会使供求差距缩小。
所以，必然存在一个使供给量等于需求量，既不过剩，也不会有不足的价格，这个价格叫“均衡价格”。均衡价格，就是市场上的真实价格。一切按照均衡价格出售和购买的人都会如愿。
经济学家在说到价格高低的时候，其标准即是均衡价格，比它高就叫价格高，比它低就叫价格低。跟一般人所谈论的价格高低是不同的！理解供给和需求
与直觉相反，均衡价格同时是买卖双方最满意的价格！
如果价格高于均衡价格，对买方自然不利，而卖方就会有积压，也不利；当价格低于均衡价格，对卖方自然不利，但买方也买不到，也不利。只有当价格达到均衡水平时，买卖双方的利益才达到了最大化。
到今天，经济学对价格决定的认识所达到的最高水平（在局部均衡分析框架内），就是供求决定价格：供求理论包含了此前所有相关理论的合理成分，是最科学的价格理论。当经济学家分析价格的时候，就从这两个方面入手。
