Author Description

盖特纳，1961年8月18日出生于纽约布鲁克林，在美国、亚洲和非洲等多个国家和地区度过了童年时期。他高中就读于曼谷的一所中学，回到美国后就读于达特茅斯大学。之后，他又在霍普金斯大学获得国际经济和东亚研究硕士学位。此外，还学习过日语和中文。盖特纳于1985年与达特茅斯大学同学卡罗尔结婚，两人育有一儿一女。
盖特纳是美国经济学家，第75任美国财政部部长，也是美国历史上最年轻的财长，曾担任美国前国务卿基辛格的研究助理，于1988年加入美国财政部国际事务司，并在接下来的10多年中先后担任负责国际货币和金融政策的副助理部长、负责国际事务的助理部长和负责国际事务的副部长。2002年，他加入美国外交学会，成为国际经济部门的高级研究员。同时，他还担任国际货币基金组织的政策发展和回顾部门负责人。2003年10月，他被任命为纽约联邦储备银行行长。在2003年进入纽约联储之前，盖特纳在财政部服务过3届政府和5任财长。他还曾受雇于前国务卿基辛格的私人公司“基辛格同仁公司”。
