三、儿童家庭药物保管
1.分门别类家庭应对自备的药品进行分类，做到心中有数。将大人和小儿的药物分开；内用药和外用药分开；急救药与常规用药分开，特殊药与普通药分开，常用药与少用药分开，并要标志清楚，一旦需要某种药物时，就很容易找到，以免急用时拿错、误服发生危险。
2.药品包装家庭的药物尽可能放在玻璃瓶内保存，如购入的散装药品，或剩余的药物，最好分别装入棕色瓶内，将盖子拧紧，如使用以前曾装过其他药品的空瓶子存放药品时，应清洗干净，注意更换标签，以免引起混淆而错服药物。
3.标明药名存放药的瓶、袋、盒上的原有标签要保持完整，药名要清楚、正确。没有标签时，一定要把内装药品的名称、用途、用法、用量、注意事项和有效期等详细标明。外用药多用红字标签标明，一般都有刺激性，腐蚀性，或毒性较大，故不可内服。
4.注明有效期与失效期药品均有有效使用期和失效期，应随时检查，过了有效期便不能再使用，否则会影响疗效，甚至会带来不良后果。
5.外观辨别药品变质无论药物有无注明有效期，用药前都需要从外观上鉴别药品是否变质，也应该经常清查药箱，药物外观出现变化，应视为变质，应经常淘汰与补充，如针剂有颜色改变，有沉淀分层，出现混浊、絮状物或黑霉点，以及其他固体结晶等；药片由白色变黄、变深，出现花斑、霉点、潮解等；糖衣片表面褪色露底、裂开、发霉等；糖浆出现较多沉淀、发霉；冲剂有发黏、结块、溶化；眼药水有结晶、絮状物；眼药膏及其他药膏有失水、干涸、水油分离、有油败气味。
6.合理贮存药物常因光、热、水分、空气、酸、碱、温度、微生物等外界条件影响而变质失效。放置于避光、干燥、阴凉处，以防变质失效。部分易受温度影响的药品，如生物制剂、免疫预防用药，以及微生态药物等，多应放入冰箱内保存；而酒精、碘酒等制剂，则应密闭保存。中成药更要注意包装和存放，大部分中成药都怕受潮，应放入瓶中保存，热天更容易发霉、生虫。蜜丸不要多存久放，要放在通风、干燥、阴凉处。容易因潮湿而变质的药品，如氯化钙、酵母片、苯巴比妥钠、氯化钠、苯妥英钠片、含碘喉片、维生素B1片、颠茄片、阿司匹林、硫酸亚铁，胃蛋白酶、胰酶片。
7.药品放置家庭的药箱应置于儿童不能触及的位置，有毒药品应存放严密，加锁保存，以免因儿童误服而造成危险。
8.不宜保留的药物每一个家庭都会有剩余的药物，多数常用药可以保留到失效期，但也有些药物不宜保留。极容易分解变质的药品不留，如阿司匹林容易分解，分解后会增加对胃肠道的刺激，维生素C也不宜久放。有效期短，且没有长期保留价值的药品不留，如微生态药物、胃蛋白酶合剂等药物为活菌或蛋白类药物，有效期短，需要冰箱冷藏，这些药物也较便宜，不宜多保存。一些药品遇潮容易变质，需要有避光保存的药物，如果无好的包装盒或包装袋包装的药品最好不要保留。不能掌握作用与用途的药品，无法判断药品生产日期、有效期，随便使用，会给服药者身体带来危害，是不宜保留的。
