Author Description

欧文·亚隆（Irvin Yalom），是美国斯坦福大学医学院精神医学的荣誉退休教授。他曾被授予1974年的EdwardStrecker奖，和1979年的精神医学奖，他是《当尼采哭泣》（此书曾荣获1993年联邦俱乐部小说金奖）、《爱情刽子手》和《叔本华的治疗》的作者，他还撰写了经典教科书《住院病人的团体治疗》和《存在主义取向的心理治疗》。亚隆目前住美国加洲。

《日益亲近：心理治疗师与来访者的心灵对话》：
今天，金妮来了，她看上去要比往常好一些。她的衣服上没有补丁，头发好像也梳理过了，她的脸看上去清爽真切。她不太自然地谈到我的建议，并说用治疗记录而非金钱来支付治疗费用，简直就是重生，给了她新的希望。她一开始的时候有些兴奋，但后来又通过说些讽刺性的玩笑话，来拿自己和别人开涮，强压住她自己的乐观。当我问及她说了些什么讽刺的玩笑话时，她说我可以出版一本我们的治疗记录，标题可以叫作“与一个能自由走动的紧张症病人的访谈”。为了澄清我们的约定，我向她保证无论我们写了什么，都将为我们两个人所共有，如果要出版，也将是我们两个人共同出版。我告诉她想要出版这件事情还不是很成熟，因为我还没有仔细考虑过（谎言，其实有很多幻想掠过我的头脑：有一天，这些材料将会发表，并被公之于众）。
接着我告诫自己要集中在治疗上，以防我们漫无目的地花掉了治疗时间，并陷入金妮那种特征性的漫无目的中。那么她想在治疗中解决些什么问题呢？她希望“到达”哪里呢？她说她现在的生活总的来说很空虚，毫无意义可言；而最紧要的问题是她在性上的困难。我要求她讲得更明确些，于是她描述说每当感觉到就要达到高潮的那一刹那，她从来不能允许自己完全放开。她讲得越多，就越发地让我联想到最近跟维克多·弗兰克尔。的谈话。当她身处性事当中时，却花很多时间想着这件事：想搞清楚是什么原因阻止她达到高潮，是什么因素抑制了她，不能全心地体验与感受。我想我大概可以帮助她消除这种反思，但我脱口而出的，竟是平白得不能再平白的话：“真希望有什么办法能够让你不再反思”。她让我想到一本童话书里的百足虫，当被要求观察它自己是如何走路的时候，那条百足虫再也不能挪动它那一百双腿，一步都走不了了。
我问她每天的生活是怎样的，金妮便说她的生活是多么空虚，每天早晨从空洞的写作开始，然后一切都变得空洞起来。我和她一起思考着她的写作为何如此空洞，什么东西又能够给她的生活带来意义。越来越像维克多·弗兰克尔了！近来，我的阅读或是跟其他治疗师的谈话越来越多地悄然进入自己的治疗，让我觉得自己像是一条变色龙，根本没有自己的本色。
