在这本书中我主要关注的是：否认我们真实而强烈的情绪，会给身体带来什么后果。这些否认，很多是基于道德与宗教所需。根据我在心理治疗方面的经验（其中也包含了我个人的经验，以及我做过的非常多个案），我大概能了解到：曾在童年受虐的人只能借由极力压抑与分离他们的真实情绪。他们无法爱与尊敬自己的父母，因为他们始终会不自觉地畏惧父母。即便他们非常想要与父母发展出舒适、互信的关系，但仍然无法做到。《身体不说谎》如果一个人相信他的感觉是他“应该”感觉到的感觉，并且不断地避免去感觉那些他被禁止的感觉，最终他一定会病倒——除非他把这笔帐留给下一代来偿还，将自身不被承认的情绪投射到孩子身上。

这本书正是要揭露一个被大家忽略的事实，而宗教与道德长久以来一直在掩饰它。

作者在本书借由几位作家和名人的生平阐释了这项准则，而接下来则指出了真正的沟通之道，来帮助我们摆脱自我欺骗的恶性循环。

[德]爱丽丝·米勒 1923.01.12─2010.04.14

爱丽丝·米勒是一位以关注儿童早期心理创伤及其对成年生活影响而闻名世界的心理学家。她颠覆了传统的儿童心理学观点，提醒世人注意到父母对儿童的侵犯所带来的影响，并在欧洲引起巨大共鸣。米勒出生在波兰犹太家庭，第二次世界大战期间在纳粹的迫害中幸存，1946年获得奖学金进入瑞士古老的巴塞尔大学，1953年起陆续获得哲学、心理学和社会学博士学位，并接受精神分析训练。

米勒2010年辞世，享年87岁，留下许多脍炙人口的著作，为广大读者拓宽了看待儿童心理学的视野。

有位女士在论坛上写道，她在网络上看到这种说法：我们不再与父母见面，是不可能真的对自己有帮助的。如果这么做，将会觉得父母依然跟在我们身后。而这也正是这位女士现在的感觉。自从她不再去拜访父母以后，她日夜都会想到他们，并且生活在不间断的恐惧之中。这非常容易理解，她生活在恐慌之中，是因为网络上所谓的专家在她身上强化了专家对自己父母的恐惧。这种传道式的道德说的是：一个人对于自己的人生、感觉与需求是没有控制权利的。或许网络上很难找到其他的说法，因为网络的言论上只会反映出我们几千年以的心理状态：孝敬你的父母，你会因此长寿。

本书提到了几位大作家的生平，显示了事情并非总是如此，尤其是当问题中的人是非常敏感且聪慧时。长寿也不能证明第四诫中隐含的威胁是合理的，与此相反，长寿和生活的质量有关。这关乎父母与祖父母是否意识到自身的责任，并且不要求孩子们以损及他们自身的方式来尊敬长辈，长辈也不能毫无顾忌地对孩子们施以性虐待、殴打或其他折磨方式，并自称都是为了孩子们好。当父母将他们对自己童年已然崩溃的感觉发泄在自己孩子身上时，常常可以减轻自己的负担。但当孩子脱离他们之后，或是表面上的脱离，父母便会很快地生病。
