“五部医话”指的是《燕山医话》、《北方医话》、《南方医话》、《黄河医话》、《长江医话》5本书，这5本书曾于20世纪80代由当时的中华全国中医学会牵头，组织全国5000多人参与撰稿，历时4年完成。

Book Abstract

1980年夏天，门诊来了一位2岁的男孩，腹泻已两个多月，屡经输液、输血和多种西药治疗仍未痊愈，乃至形体赢瘦，近来泄泻无度，整天肛门有黄色稀水流出。因患儿病情重笃，欲收其住院，家长谓今日慕名而来只求中药一试。见家长凄苦恳切之状，深感重任在肩，遂表示尽力设法。但因患儿病情深重，实难一药而愈，嘱其务需复诊。因患儿舌苔黄腻，口渴多饮，几经消导化湿，清肠止泻皆无济于事。翻遍资料只有《古今图书集成·医部全录》中记有“泄泻无度，玉露散主之”颇为切合，遂依法炮制，患儿连服两天仍不见效。度量其病情，前思后虑，仍觉此证属暑邪湿热，胃经实火，玉露散较为合拍，今不见效是剂量不足，而患儿口渴多饮，畏服散剂。遂用生石膏、寒水石各30g，并去甘草改用滑石30g，于第4次复诊时开1剂，嘱其家长给患儿作饮料，频频多服，第2日患儿又来复诊，家长喜上眉梢，说药后口渴大减，腹泻已止。继用原方1剂，百日沉疴，就此渐愈。
5年来笔者将玉露散用于治疗小儿暑热泻，经过175例的临床观察，总有效率达93%，特别对一些重型暑热泻，常能取得立竿见影的效果。
查阅玉露散，乃钱乙首创。宋代医家的用药特点是以丸、散等成药为主，汤剂很少，钱乙为宋代名家，用药也不例外，不但讲究剂型，而且量少易服，独具儿科一格，对后世影响深远。玉露散作散剂服用，也具有这些优点。但是我们在临床中发现，凡是暑热泻的患儿，多数口渴欲饮，如服散剂，同时还需口服补液或静脉补液，不如用大剂量玉露散汤剂作饮料，既能代药，又能补液，一举两得，临床实践证明效果很好。
