机械臂1是底座相连的机械臂，J1轴控制机械臂1带动整个机器人绕与地面垂直的轴做旋转运动。
机械臂2通过J2轴与机械臂1连接，J2轴控制机械臂2绕平行于地面的水平轴旋转。
机械臂3通过J3轴与机械臂2连接，J3轴控制机械臂3相对于机械臂2绕平行于地面的水平轴旋转。
机械臂4通过J4轴与机械臂3连接，J4轴控制机械臂4垂直于J3轴作旋转运动。
机械臂5通过J5轴与机械臂4连接，J5轴控制机械臂5绕垂直于机械臂的轴作旋转运动。
机械臂6通过J6轴法兰盘与机械臂5连接，J6轴控制机械臂6垂直于J5轴作旋转运动。
2.工业机器人的用途
工业机器人在工业生产中能代替人做一些单调、频繁和重复的长时间作业，或是危险、恶劣环境下的作业，例如用于冲压、压力铸造、热处理、焊接、涂装、塑料制品成形、机械加工和简单装配等工序上，以及在原子能工业等部门中，完成对人体有害物料的搬运或工艺操作。
20世纪50年代末，美国在机械手和操作机的基础上，采用伺服机构和自动控制等技术，研制出有通用性的独立的工业用自动操作装置，并将其称为工业机器人；20世纪60年代初，美国研制成功两种工业机器人，并很快地在工业生产中得到应用；1969年，美国通用汽车公司用21台工业机器人组成了焊接轿车车身的自动生产线。

本书是以FANUC工业机器人LR Mate 200iC为例，介绍工业机器人系统的组成及其控制方法。主要内容包括认识工业机器人、设置坐标系、程序管理、程序设计、执行程序、信号、自动运行、复归零点、文件备份与加载、宏指令及其应用。本书安排了十个技能训练项目，突出技能训练，通过实训，可逐步提高学生操控工业机器人的能力。
