认识微型计算机的基本硬件及组成部件
了解微机系统各个硬件部件的基本功能
掌握微型计算机的硬件连接步骤及安装过程

（一）硬件的基本配置
计算机的硬件系统由主机、显示器、键盘、鼠标组成。具有多媒体功能的计算机配有音箱、话筒等。除此之外，计算机还可外接打印机、扫描仪、数码相机等设备。
计算机最主要的部分位于主机箱中，如计算机的主板、电源、CPU、内存、硬盘、各种插卡（如显卡、声卡、网卡）等主要部件都安装在机箱中。机箱的前面板上有一些按钮和指示灯，有的还有一些插接口，背面有一些插槽和接口。
（二）硬件连接步骤
首先在主板的对应插槽里安装CPU、内存条，然后把主板安装在主机箱内，再安装硬盘、光驱，接着安装显卡、声卡和网卡等，连接机箱内的接线，最后连接外部设备如显示器、鼠标和键盘等。

为了适应21世纪经济建设对人才知识结构、计算机文化素质与应用技能的要求，适应计算机科学技术和应用技术的迅猛发展，适应高等学校新生知识结构的变化，我们总结了多年来的教学实践和组织计算机等级考试的经验，同时，根据教育部非计算机专业计算机基础课程教学指导分委员会提出的《关于进一步加强高校计算机基础教学的意见》中有关"大学计算机基础"课程教学的要求，组织编写了本课程教学用书。取材既照顾到了计算机基础教育的基础性、广泛性和一定的理论性，又照顾到了计算机教育的实践性、实用性和更新发展性；既照顾到了高校新生中从未接触过计算机的部分同学，又照顾到了具有一定计算机基础的同学的学习要求。
本书是《大学计算机基础》的配套教材，强调实验操作的内容、方法和步骤。目的在于让学生掌握基本理论的同时，掌握每个章节的知识要点，提高动手操作能力，对知识进行全面的了解和掌握。
全书共分两大部分，第一部分为与主教材对应的各章实验指导，第二部分为主教材各章习题参考答案。内容密切结合了国家教育部关于该课程的基本教学要求，兼顾计算机软件和硬件的最新发展，结构严谨，层次分明。在教学内容上，各高校可根据教学学时、学生的实际情况进行选取。
本书大约需56学时，具体实验学时请参考实验指导中的"实验学时"。
本书由甘勇担任主编，尚展垒、陈慧担任副主编。参加本书编写工作的有韩丽、张旭、方娜和刘嘉。教材两部分对应各章的内容编写安排是，第1章、第2章由刘嘉编写，第3章、第4章由陈慧编写，第5章、第6章、第7章由韩丽编写，第8章、第9章由方娜编写，第10章、第11章、第12章由张旭编写。尚展垒负责本书的统稿和组织工作。
