（五）具有复杂的逻辑推理和判断功能
计算机不同于其他机器，它已经不单是一种计算工具，还可以代替人脑做一些逻辑推理和判断工作。计算机不仅能进行算术运算，同时也能进行各种逻辑运算，具有逻辑判断能力。计算机的逻辑判断能力也是计算机智能化必备的基本条件。三、计算机的应用随着计算机技术、通信技术、软件技术的迅速发展，计算机应用领域不断扩大，已经深入到人类社会活动的各个领域。归结起来，主要有如下几个方面。
（一）科学计算
科学计算是计算机最重要的应用之一。在天文、水利、气象、地质、医疗、军事、航空航天、生物工程等科学研究领域，如卫星轨道计算、数值天气预报、力学计算等，要求计算速度快，精确度高，差错率低，通过计算机可以解决人工无法解决的复杂计算问题。
（二）数据处理
数据处理是目前计算机应用最广泛的一个领域。利用计算机收集、存储、加工、分类、统计、查询及报表等操作的目的是获取有用的信息作为决策的依据。数据处理的应用比较广泛，如图书资料检索、数据报表、资料统计和分析、企业管理、物资管理、报表统计、账目计算、信息情报检索等，这些数据处理任务都可以由计算机完成。一般来说，数据处理中数据量很大，但计算方法较简单。
（三）过程控制
过程控制也称为实时控制，它要求计算机及时采集检测数据，按最佳值迅速对控制对象进行自动控制或自动调节。在日常生产中，有一些控制问题是人们无法亲自操作的，如化工生产过程控制、炼钢过程控制、机械切削过程控制。有了计算机就可以精确地控制，用计算机来代替人完成那些繁重或危险的工作。目前，在化工、冶金、电力、航天、交通等行业中广泛地应用计算机，实现了自动化。
