本书体现以工作过程为导向教材的特点，将知识与技能的学习融入工作过程中，实现理论与实际一体化的职业教育模式。主要内容包括维护软件和维护硬件两部分，软件的维护包括Windows Server 2003 系统下FTP、DNS、DHCP、AD、Wsus和Exchange服务的维护、Linux系统的简单维护、SQL Server的维护与管理。硬件维护包括服务器硬件设备的除尘、故障设备的判定与更换、软件检测服务器性能等。
