一、糖尿病的基本知识
（一）糖尿病患者知多少
糖尿病（简称DM）是由遗传因素和环境因素长期共同作用而引起的一种慢性、全身性、内分泌代谢性疾病。由于胰岛B细胞不能正常分泌胰岛素，因而胰岛素分泌的绝对量或相对量不足，以及靶细胞对胰岛素敏感性的降低，从而引起人体血糖升高，出现尿糖。严重者发生糖、脂肪、蛋白质、水和电解质等一系列代谢紊乱。久病可引起人体多系统损害，如心、脑、肾、眼、神经等重要器官和组织的并发症。病情严重或应激反应时可发生急性代谢紊乱，如酮症酸中毒等。此外，在糖尿病人群中发生冠心病、缺血性或出血性脑血管病、失明、肢端坏疽等严重并发症者均明显高于非糖尿病人群。因此，糖尿病及其并发症已成为严重威胁人类生命和健康的重要疾病。
据世界卫生组织（WHO）最新报告，目前全世界大约有2亿糖尿病患者，预计到2025年将上升到3亿多人。糖尿病已成为世界经济发达国家的第三大非传染病（第一是心血管病，第二是癌症），是严重威胁人类生命和健康的世界性公共卫生问题，日益引起世界各国的广泛关注。
我国糖尿病患病的人数正以惊人的速度急骤增多。据报道，我国每年新增糖尿病患者80多万。根据一项最新的全国性流行病学调查结果，我国糖尿病的患病率已超过4％，这意味着我国现在已有5000多万糖尿病患者，居世界第二位，接受治疗的人数不到7％．这其中大部分是2型糖尿病患者。回顾其增长过程，就会发现这一数字是多么惊人：20世纪8。年代，我国糖尿病的患病率为0．67％；到了90年代增长为3．2％；而由于我国肥胖人群、老龄人口、妊娠糖尿病和城市人口的持续增加。
