胃的解剖结构和生理功能
据统计，在每100个就诊的消化系统疾病患者中就有65位患有胃炎或并发胃部疾病。人们迫切地要了解胃炎究竟为何如此“神通广大”。
要想充分了解胃炎，熟悉胃的解剖结构和生理功能等基本知识是必需的，下面我们给您介绍一下有关胃的基本常识，以便您能进一步了解胃炎。
胃是消化道最膨大的部分，位于腹腔的左上方，自左向右横跨上腹部。其形态、体积、位置变化比较大。空腹时，胃呈“J”形，进食后逐渐胀大。胃的容积为1-2升。
胃有两个口：人口，即贲门，上接食管；出口，即幽门。胃的前后分别称为前壁和后壁，胃空虚时，胃的左右侧分别称为胃大弯和胃小弯，胃小弯的最低点有明显的转角，称为胃角或胃切迹。卧位时胃的位置较高，坐位或站位时则较低，当胃充盈时，胃体可达下腹部。胃被人为地划分为几个区域，胃、食管连接处水平以上部分称为胃底部：胃的远端称为胃窦部；而胃体部则介于胃底部与胃窦部之间，所占范围最大。
上述各部位有各自的功能，但彼此间相互协调，共同完成整个胃的功能。
胃的生理功能
胃是消化系统的一部分，总的说来，其主要承担消化食物的功能，为进一步的吸收做准备工作。具体来说，我们的胃担负着分泌、运动、消化吸收三个重要职责，
1.胃有多种分泌功能
胃体和胃底部有主细胞和壁细胞，主细胞分泌胃蛋白酶原，在酸的作用下转变成胃蛋白酶，其对蛋白质的初步消化起重要作用：壁细胞分泌盐酸，促使胃蛋白酶原转化成胃蛋白酶。
空腹时胃内的酸性非常高，使胃内基本处于无菌的状态：此外，胃尚有分泌黏液的作用，其pH值为7左右，对胃黏膜免受胃蛋白酶一盐酸的侵蚀具有一定的保护作用，并可混合食糜，便于接受研磨，并为胃的运动起润滑作用。
2.胃有消化道最强大的肌肉组织，具有最强有力的运动功能
胃的肌肉组织有三层，其中的协调运动是胃运动功能的基础。胃的基本运动功能是受纳（即接受食物进入胃内并随之扩张）、混合（将摄人的食物与胃所分泌的各种成分充分拌和）、研磨（将大的食块磨成小的食糜）和排空（使研磨成的小食糜通过幽门管排人十二指肠），以及在摄人有害物后产生的逆蠕动，将有害物经口腔排出体外（呕吐）。
3.胃是消化管道进行消化的主要场所
其主要功能是消化食物。因为没有类似于小肠的绒毛样吸收膜，胃的吸收功能有限，仅能吸收少量的乙醇和水。人们平时吃进去的食物都是大分子物质组成的团块，必须在胃肠道内被分解成小分子物质才能被人体利用。这种把食物在胃肠道内分解成小分子物质的过程就叫消化。
