中医认为，脾胃为水谷之海，是气血生化之源，故有“后天之本”的说法。明代著名医学家张景岳说过：“土气为万物之源，胃气为养生之主。胃强则强，胃弱则弱，有胃则生，无胃则死。是以养生家必当以脾胃为先。”可见，脾胃强盛是人体健康长寿的基础。培土固本，健全脾胃，保养正气，应是养生之本。脾、肝、心、肺、肾五脏都是“天生我材必有用”，然而脏与脏之间不是孤立的，而是彼此密切联系着的，如清·张志聪在《侣山堂类辩》中说：“五脏之气，皆相贯通。”五脏之间在生理活动和病理变化上有着必然的内在联系，因而形成了脏与脏之间相互资生、相互制约的关系。脾与胃以膜相连，一脏一腑同居中焦，在功能上相互为用，分工合作，整个脾胃的功能构成中气，脾胃中气对于人的生理起到很重要的作用。脾主运化，胃主受纳；脾以升为主，胃以降为和。脾升胃降，纳运正常，共同完成水谷精微的消化吸收，化生气血，充养机体以为后天之本。脾胃升降失和、化源不足，则诸病生焉。

脾胃是气血生化之源，元气之本。人体一切生命活动和脏腑功能均依靠气血的供应，而脾胃乃“气血阴阳之根蒂”，产生气血之源泉。金元时期著名医学家李东垣在《脾胃论·脾胃虚实传变论》中提出：“元气之充足，皆由脾胃之气无所伤，而后能滋养元气。若胃气之本弱，饮食自倍，则脾胃之气既伤，而元气亦不能充，而诸病之所由生也。”说明脾胃是元气之本，元气是健康之本，脾胃伤则元气衰，元气衰则疾病生。健运脾胃养生之本脾胃为“后天之本”，故脾胃强弱是决定人之寿夭的重要因素。著名医家张景岳说过：“土气为万物之源，胃气为养生之主。胃强则强，胃弱则弱，有胃则生，无胃则死。是以养生家必当以脾胃为先。”可见，脾胃强盛是人体健康长寿的基础。探究人体衰老的原因，确实与脾胃虚衰有关。中医经典著作《黄帝内经》中提出“五七，阳明脉衰，面始焦，发始堕”，阳明脉即胃经、大肠经，因脾胃能化生气血，故为多气多血之经，但人到35 岁左右，胃经衰弱，则衰老开始显现。现代医学认为蛋白质是生命的物质基础。人体的蛋白质虽由人体自身合成，但其原料来源全赖胃肠道的功能，即胃的受纳和脾的运化。脾胃是身体的轴心明代著名医学家张景岳提出“养生要以脾胃为先”的观点，并把脾胃称为身体的基础和轴心。脾胃之所以是生命健康的轴心力量，主要是因为人体的生命活动有赖于脾胃输送的营养物质。脾胃出现了问题，不但影响食欲、睡眠、情绪，时间长了，还会引起器质性疾病。相反，脾胃健运，能让身体气血充盈，保证各个器官有条不紊地工作。在中医理论中，脾胃属土，有脾土之称，它们就是人体内的土地，是人的后天之本。你想想，土地孕育万物，供应人类，离开了它，人类便无法生存，同样的，脾胃没养好，人就失去了健康和长寿的物质基础。修补“后天”是养生之本俗话说“人是铁，饭是钢”，饭要发挥作用，中医认为，靠的是脾。脾和胃虽是两个独立的器官，但它们之间的关系非常密切。打个比方来说，胃像是一个粮仓，而脾是一家物流运输公司。我们吃下去的食物先由胃初步研磨、消化，再由脾进行再次消化，取精华、去糟粕，把食物中的营养物质运至全身。由此可见，脾胃在饮食的消化吸收过程中起着关键的作用。脾胃是水谷之海，是气血生化之源，是人体赖以生存的中枢，故有“后天之本”的说法。修补“后天”，健全脾胃，充养气血，应是养生之本。

Introduction

众所周知，民以食为天。如果不吃饭，人的生命就不可能得到维持，而饮食要真正成为生命的源泉，必须有一个消化吸收的过程。而这个过程的完成，靠的是脾胃，所以中医非常重视脾胃的养生。

脾胃的功能非常强大，尤其是脾的运化功能正常，使气血源源不断地化生，并保障人体各组织器官所需的各种营养物质以及足够的能量供给，故脾胃有“后天之本”的说法。

相对于“先天之本”的肾来说，脾胃更易受到伤害。饮食不节、劳累过度、思虑过度等都会使“后天”有所损伤和不足。所以修补“后天”，培养“后天”，健全脾胃，保养正气，应是养生之本。事实上，先天不足可以通过后天补。如果一个人先天不足、身体素质差，完全可以通过后天的修补转弱为强。明代著名医学家张景岳说过：“人之自生至老，凡先天之有不足者，但得后天培养之力，则补天之功，亦可居其强半。”确实，大凡那些长寿的人，养生方法虽有所差异，但“吃得下，解得出”一定是共同点，他们无不是脾胃健运者。那么，我们应该如何修补“后天”，健运脾胃，从而让自己健康长寿呢？这正是本书要告诉大家的。
