【閱讀123】讓孩子輕巧跨越閱讀障礙

台灣兒童的閱讀，呈現兩極化的現象：低年級閱讀圖畫書之後，中年級就形成斷層，閱讀能力好的孩子，進入「富者越富」的良性循環；相對的，閱讀能力銜接不上的孩子，便開始放棄閱讀，形成「貧者越貧」的惡性循環。

國小低年級階段，當孩子開始練習「自己讀」時，特別需要考量讀物的文字數量、字彙難度，同時需要大量插圖輔助，幫助孩子理解上下文意。如果以圖文比例的改變來解釋，孩子在啟蒙閱讀的階段，讀物的選擇要從「圖圖文」，到「圖文文」，再到「文文文」。在閱讀風氣成熟的先進國家，這段特別經過設計，幫助孩子進階閱讀、跨越障礙的「橋梁書」，一直是不可或缺的兒童讀物類型。
