1.1知识与方法：网络维护概述
1.1.3 网络维护的目的
网络维护、网络管理、网络故障排除这三个概念非常容易混淆，因为这三个方面都是从系统集成中衍生出来的。网络管理的主要目的是监督、组织和控制网络通信服务以及信息处理所必需的各种活动。网络故障排除的主要目的是在网络出现故障时尽快解决网络故障，恢复网络的运行。网络维护的主要目的是在网络存在正常管理的前提下通过对网络设备、服务、连接介质等方面的维护，减少或避免网络故障的出现或减少故障出现的几率。
由于这三个方面从系统集成中衍生出来时就有很大的关联性，所以也无法彻底分清它们之间的界限。在此强调一下，网络维护的主要目的是如何避免在正常管理下运行的网络出现故障。所以评价一个网络维护的优良程度就是查看在网络运行阶段网络故障出现的次数和相应的出现比例。例如月故障数量、年故障数量以及介质故障数量、设备故障数量、服务故障数量等相关的比例，通过这些数据来衡量网络维护工作的成效。如果一个网络在运行期间缺乏必要的管理导致故障频发，这是网络管理的问题。如果出现了故障而不能及时进行诊断和发现，或不能尽快排除，则是网络故障解决的问题；如果一个网络管理得非常到位，但是由于设备老化、线路干扰等其他问题导致故障频发，这就是典型的网络维护的问题。当然，由于许多原因，企业的网络维护人员可能身兼多职，既要负责网络的管理还要进行网络的维护和故障的解决，所以本书就以网络维护为主线，同时顺带介绍网络故障排除的知识和网络管理的知识。结合这三个方面进行综合的讨论：如何保障一个网络可以正常通畅的运行。

本书以实际存在的Intranet为蓝本，依据行业及业内知名企业的网络维护规范，并融合了编者多年的一线工作经验，使得教材更加贴近实际，符合规范。全书采用任务引领、逐步渐进的方式，以实际工作为具体项目，力求生动，并设置了实训项目，以便学生检查教学效果和自测。本书可以作为职业院校网络技术相关专业的教材，也可以作为从事网络维护工作人员的培训教材和实践指导用书。
李宇鹏负责确定全书的体系结构和编写风格，并进行了全书统稿，吴文生负责实训部分的编写，马莹负责情景内容的编写，贾鹏宇、乔得琢、张东菊、史文、余秀艳、梁江峰、尚平老师也参与了本书的编写。全书由李惠颖老师主审。
