UG NX CAE功能主要包括结构分析、运动和智能建模等应用模块，提供简便易学的性能仿真工具，任何设计人员都可以进行高级的性能分析，从而获得更高质量的模型。图1-9所示即是使用结构分析模块对带轮部件进行有限元分析。
1.3 UG NX 7新增功能
1.3.1 “HD3D”（三维精确描述）功能
UG NX 7引入了“HD3D”（三维精确描述）功能，即一个开放、直观的可视化环境，有助于全球产品开发团队充分发掘PLM信息的价值，并显著提升其制定卓有成效的产品决策的能力。为产品开发的“精确描述”可视化分析确立了新的标准。如图1-lO所示为“HD3D工具”导航栏。
1.可视报告（可视化产品信息）
HD3D提供了视觉效果丰富的环境，可以与任何类型的PLM数据协同工作。这种环境通用于NX和Teamcenter软件（Siemens PLM Software业界领先的数字化生命周期管理解决方案），其开放式架构还可以集成各种第三方应用软件。HD3D增强了NX和Teamcenter可视化能力，为企业提供了解、协同和制定决策所需的信息。HD3D还提供了一种简易和直观地搜集、比较和展示产品信息的手段，可以立即运用到关键的决策当中。在NX 7中采用HD3D将有助于用户根据在Teamcenter或NX中跟踪的任何类型的数据对产品设计进行可视化咨询和评估，如发布状态、重量限额、材料类型、出货状况等。
例如，某个NX 7用户可以运行一项报告，查找正在开发并显示为如期完成或推迟完成的部件。该产品的三维NX模型将直观地重点显示推迟一周以上完成的所有部件和需要关注的原因。屏幕上会显示交互式标签，可以选择该标签进一步查看更详细的信息。某一特定产品可能由数千个零部件组成，而这种可视化反馈与交互式工作环境可以省去手工查找材料清单和状态报告，并解释问题所在以及需要采取的措施的麻烦。
2.Ckeck Mate（验证产品信息）
HD3D除了上述具有基于PLM数据的可视化分析能力，HD3D还用于NX 7Check-Mate中进行应用。NX 7Check-Mate是一种基于标准的校核应用程序，可确保产品符合设计标准，在CAD模型文件结构中始终保持一致，并满足各项企业和行业标准的要求。HD3D将通过采用对问题进行分析和报告的全新可视化用户界面提高Check-Mate中验证工具的功能。同上述示例一样，新的环境通过提供直观、可视的方法查看Check-Mate的结构并对问题进行评估来提升产品验证过程中的决策能力。如图1.11所示为“CkeckMate”验证产品信息对话框。
