《茅盾文学奖获奖作品全集：将军吟》：
临近文工团大楼的时候，听到小礼堂里面有愤怒的口号声。正好兵团机关第一门诊部的军医和护士们下晚班从那里经过，有的好奇地扭头向小礼堂望一眼，有的头都不摆，默不作声走自己的路。赵大明接连堵住三个走来的人，问道：“那是在干什么？”被问者抬头一看是文工团的人，便只是摇头，不愿意讲话。
文工团那座三层的一字大楼与小礼堂连在一起，组成丁字结构。赵大明急赶几步进了大楼，来到与小礼堂相接的地方一望，大吃一惊，原来他们正在斗陈镜泉政委。一个人民解放军的将军头上，扣着一顶过去给地主、恶霸、土豪、劣绅戴的纸糊高帽，领章被拔掉了，军衣被墨汁染黑了，脸上已看不清容貌，黑一块，白一块，墨汁像挂着的眼泪还在继续滴落下来。在将军的眼面前和头顶上，时而有愤怒的拳头在攒劲挥舞。这是怎么回事？赵大明连忙揉了几下眼睛，怀疑是不是看花眼了。不！千真万确，那个被弄得狼狈不堪的老头子，正是本兵团的政治委员、独臂将军陈镜泉。
在极短的时间内，赵大明的记忆宝库中有关陈政委的一些印象接连浮现出来：
——文工团排了新节目请首长审查。陈政委坐在头排，前面摆着茶几和杯子，主任、部长们在旁边陪着，专门有两个文工团员在政委背后拿着小本子和钢笔，随时准备首长一开口就往本本上记。戏演到最紧张的时候，政委发现了问题，对台上问道：“那个演匪兵的，你那个鞋带怎么是白的？”于是，这一场戏就要重新来过。
——文工团在部队演出，那天休息，陈政委的专机在机场着陆，有人老远看见是政委来了，跑步回去告诉了团长。一分钟之内，团长已把队伍集合好，迎着政委跑上去立正报告：“报告政委同志，文工团在这里演出，来了三天，今天休息，请首长指示。”政委边走边说：“好嘛！下部队演出，休息嘛！”他从队伍前面经过，人们行注目礼迎送着他，他忽然发现了一个熟识的文工团员，笑笑说道：“小胖子，要少吃点肉啊！”说完仍旧走路，在军、师首长们簇拥下，去他该去的地方。
——有个文工团员在海城大道步行，政委的轿车从背后开来停在旁边，首长伸出头来问：“到哪里去啊？”“首长，我回团去。”“上车吧！”于是，这段小故事便在文工团成为永久的美谈。
——文工团在海城剧院公演《年轻的鹰》，有天陈政委陪客人看完戏来到后台，见演员们脱下飞行服，一个个大汗淋漓，热得喘不过气来。政委指示团长说：“这么热的天，你在休息室准备点冰水嘛，买点西瓜来吃嘛！”后来，每天在喝着冰水和吃着西瓜的时候，人们总忘不了陈政委的关怀。
可是现在，他怎么被弄成这样子了？人还是那个人。秘书也在旁边，不过已变成了陪斗者。怎么回事？怎么回事？怎么回事呢？拳头又挥舞起来，所有这些挥舞拳头的人，都是原来整队站好接受检阅的人，其中也有那个小胖子和那个有幸坐过他的小车的人。他们为了什么在他面前挥舞拳头？这是怎么回事？
赵大明由于没有思想准备，被这突然见到的场面惊呆了。他感觉到身上在发抖，既不是由于寒冷，又不是由于恐惧，也不是由于激动，不知是什么原因，使自己丧失了控制，像害了疟疾似的抖个不停。他提醒自己：“不要惊慌，好好儿听听，到底是怎么回事？”后来他终于明白了，原来人们是在批判反动路线。
