我通过多年的教学实践发现，如今的英语语言正规教育和自主学习都存在不少误区，其中最大的误区在于没有清晰地区分母语和英语的不同。相反，很多英语学习者和教育者，为了便于学习或教学，一直在强化汉语和英语之间的相同点，奢望以此降低英语学习的难度。殊不知，这种方法恐怕是在南辕北辙。其结果往往是在简化了英语学习的同时，连英语最基本的东西也一并丢掉了，这也是现如今Chinglish（中式英语）铺天盖地，学习者埋头学习多年后却仍旧羞于开口说英语的最主要原因。在这种教学理念的指导下，学习者英语水平停滞不前也就不足为怪了。

实际上语言都是相通的，利用汉语和英语发音的相似点展开英语学习有一定的道理；但是语言又是受制于地域和文化的，即使相似发音在根本上也是有区别的。在本书中，我们厘清了这一点，从中英文的不同点着手，在学习英语发音的同时，认清汉语拼音的发音方式，认清两者之间的相同点和不同点。这样既简化了英语发音学习，更是有针对性地纠正中式英语发音，让我们从语音开始，习得一口标准的发音。
