没有比灾难报道，更让一个记者身心俱痛。也没有比灾难报道，更让一个记者理解生命，理解人性，理解爱。

作为一个记者，我曾经历汶川地震、玉树地震、舟曲泥石流、芦山地震等多个灾难报道，如果让我回忆，我是不情愿的，那沉重、伤痛、乃至压抑，至今似乎都堆积在内心的某一角。然而，我知道，正是这一角的堆积，一直在我的生命中活着，醒着，参与我的成长。这不仅是我的体会，这是每一个跑过灾难报道记者共有的体会。读一读这近百位记者的灾难报道手记，呈现给我们的便是这样一个深重痛苦而又静默肃穆充满悲情和力量的心灵的海洋。

这是一片有体温的海洋。在这里，每一个记者最关心、最痛心、最注目的人就是在灾难中遭受巨大创伤的人们，几乎每一篇手记都倾注了对苦难人们的疼爱与关怀。在新闻圈里发生过的那种灾难报道中虚假的、冷酷的、高调的、以受灾人的痛苦架构臆想主题自娱自乐的、令人作呕的姿态，在这里没有容身之地。通过这些文字，我们可以读到灾难的真相，它留给我们的是真实的历史记忆。
