村上春树，日本作家。生于1949年。29岁开始写作，处女作《且听风吟》获日本群像新人奖。1987年出版的《挪威的森林》，日文版销量突破1000万册。2009年出版的《1Q84》被誉为“新千年日本文学的里程碑”。2013年4月，《没有色彩的多崎作和他的巡礼之年》面世，七天突破100万册，创日本文学销量突破100万册的纪录。写作之余，热衷翻译英语文学、跑步、爵士乐等。

Book Abstract

三十岁那年，我获得文艺杂志《群像》的新人奖，以作家身份正式出道。那时候，我已经积累了一定的人生经验，虽然谈不上多么丰富，却与普通人或者说常人有些不同的意趣。通常大家都是先从大学毕业，接着就业，隔一段时间，告一段落后再结婚成家。其实我原先也打算这么做，或者说，马马虎虎地以为大概会顺理成章变成这样。因为这么做，呃，是世间约定俗成的顺序。而且我（好也罢坏也罢）几乎从来没有过狂妄的念头，要与世情背道而驰。实际上，我却是先结婚，随之为生活所迫开始工作，然后才终于毕业离校的。与通常的顺序正好相反。这该说是顺其自然呢，还是身不由己便木已成舟，总之人生很难按部就班地依照既定方针运作。

反正我是一开始先结了婚（至于为什么要结婚，说来话长，姑且略去不提），又讨厌进公司就职（至于为什么讨厌就职，这也说来话长，姑且略去不提），就决定自己开家小店。那是一家播放爵士唱片，提供咖啡、酒类和菜肴的小店。因为我当时沉溺于爵士乐（现在也经常听），只要能从早到晚听喜欢的音乐就行啦！就是出于这个非常单纯、某种意义上颇有些草率的想法。我还没毕业便结了婚，当然不会有什么资金，于是和太太两个人在三年里同时打了好几份工，总之是拼命攒钱，然后再四处举债。就这样用东拼西凑来的钱在国分寺车站南口开了一家小店。那是一九七四年的事。

值得庆幸的是，那时候年轻人开店不像现在这样耗费巨资，所以和我一样“不想进公司上班”“不愿向体制摇尾乞怜”的人们，就到处开起小店来，诸如咖啡馆、小饭馆、杂货店和书店。我的小店周边也有好几家同龄人经营的店。血气方刚、貌似学生运动落魄者的家伙们也在四周晃来晃去。整个世间好像还有不少类似“缝隙”的地方，只要走运，找到适合自己的“缝隙”，就好歹能生存下去。那是一个虽然事事粗枝大叶，却也不乏乐趣的时代。

我把从前用过的立式钢琴从家里搬过来，周末在店里举办现场演奏会。武藏野一带住着许多爵士乐手，尽管演出费低廉，大家却（好像）总是快快活活地赶来表演。像向井滋春啦，高濑亚纪啦，杉本喜代志啦，大友义雄啦，植松孝夫啦，古泽良治郎啦，渡边文男啦，可真让人开心啊。他们也罢我也罢，大家都很年轻，干劲十足。呃，遗憾的是，彼此都几乎没赚到什么钱。

虽说是做自己喜欢的事情，但毕竟负债累累，偿还债务颇为艰苦。我们不单向银行举债，还向朋友借款。好在向朋友借的钱没几年就连本带利还清了。每天早起晚睡、省吃俭用，终于偿清了欠债，尽管这是理所应当的事情。当时我们（所谓我们，指的是我和太太）过着非常节俭的斯巴达式的生活。家里既没有电视也没有收音机，甚至连一只闹钟都没有。也几乎没有取暖设施，寒夜里只好紧紧搂着家里养的几只猫咪睡觉。猫咪们也使劲往我们身上贴过来。

每个月都要偿还银行的贷款，有一次怎么也筹不到钱，夫妻俩低着头走在深夜的路上，拾到过掉在地上的皱巴巴的钞票。不知该说是共时性原理，还是某种冥冥中的指引，那偏巧就是我们需要的金额。第二天再还不上贷款的话，银行就会拒绝承兑了，简直是捡回了一条小命（我的人生路上不知何故经常发生这种不可思议的事）。本来这笔钱应该上交给警察，可那时我压根儿就没有力气说漂亮话。对不起了……事到如今再来道歉也无济于事。呃，我愿意以其他方式尽可能地返还给社会。

我无意在这里倾吐委屈，总之是想说在二十多岁的时候，我一直生活得十分艰辛。当然，世上际遇更惨的人不计其数。在他们看来，我的境遇恐怕只能算小菜一碟：“哼，这哪里算得上什么艰辛！”我觉得这种说法也没错，但一归一二归二，对我而言这已经足够艰辛了。就是这么回事。

然而也很快乐。这同样是不争的事实。我们年轻，又非常健康，最主要的是可以整天听自己喜欢的音乐，店铺虽小，却也算是一国之君、一城之主。无须挤在满员电车里行色匆匆地赶去上班，也无须出席枯燥无聊的会议，更不必冲着令人生厌的老板点头哈腰，还能结识形形色色的有趣的人、兴味盎然的人。

还有一点十分重要，我在这段时间里完成了社会学习。说“社会学习”似乎太直白，显得傻气，总之就是长大成人了。好几次差点头撞南墙，却在千钧一发之际全身而退。也曾遇到过污言秽语、遭人使坏，闹得满腹怨气。当时，仅仅因为是做“酒水生意”的，就会无端地受到社会歧视。不单得残酷地驱使肉体，还得事事沉默忍耐。有时还得把醉酒闹事的酒鬼踢出店门外。狂风袭来时只能缩起脑袋硬扛。总之别无所求，一心只想把小店撑下去，慢慢还清欠债。

不过，总算心无旁骛地度过了这段艰苦岁月，而且没有遭受重创，好歹得以保全性命，来到了稍稍开阔平坦一些的场所。略作喘息之后，我环顾四周，只见眼前展现出一片从未见过的全新风景，风景中站着一个全新的自己—简而言之就是这样。回过神来，我多少变得比以前坚强了一些，似乎多少（不过是一星半点）也增长了一些智慧。

我丝毫没有奉劝诸位“人生路上要尽量多吃苦头”的意思。老实说，我觉得假如不吃苦头就能蒙混过关，当然是不吃更好。毫无疑问，吃苦受难绝不是乐事一桩，只怕还有人因此一蹶不振，再也无法重整旗鼓。不过，假如您此时此刻刚好陷入了困境，正饱受折磨，那么我很想告诉您：“尽管眼下十分艰难，可日后这段经历说不定就会开花结果。”也不知道这话能否成为慰藉，不过请您这样换位思考、奋力前行。
