我第一个想到的是豆子。正考虑去买些呢。看到新鲜的荚豆，我会跳过柜台去买。超市里的人们会认出我：“巴迪，你来这儿干嘛？”我会说：“嘿，老弟，我跟你们一样，也得吃东西，也得买新鲜的豆子。”

天气暖和时我想吃甜瓜，但我不会买你的籽甜瓜，就像我不会买你的黄白双色玉米。我不买被虐待过的食物。回家的路上，我会停下来看看路边摊在卖些什么。如果看到他们卖的玉米上爬着一只小虫子，我会买些带回去，因为这说明它们没有经受过农药的洗礼。小虫子很容易清理，可农药怎么清理呢？

我的生活很简单。不用上路巡演的时候，我会把白天花在买菜和烹饪上。有时孩子们过来一起吃，有时就我自个儿吃。午后两点，我通常美美地睡上一觉。晚餐过后，我坐进我的SUV，朝我的布鲁斯俱乐部进发。要是汽油不够了，我就多费些时间把车开到隔壁的印第安纳州加油，那儿的油价比芝加哥便宜两分钱。离开种植园初闯世界时，我在巴吞鲁日的一个加油站工作过。那时汽油均价是一块钱，如今把油箱加满得花掉我120块。我不是在抱怨，我只是想说我看到了一些变迁。
