对于从事广东地产药材的应用研究与开发工作的人员来说最需要的参考资料是希望系统了解地产药材的化学成分、药理作用与临床应用情况。为此，笔者组织了有关高校、科研部门、药检部门、医院药学部门及中药生产企业的中药科技人员编写了这本《广东地产药材研究》专著。《广东地产药材研究》130多万字，收载了广东地产药材170余种，按别名、来源、性味、功能主治、用法用量、药用历史、化学成分、药理作用、临床应用、附注、参考文献等11个栏目内容来描述。由梅全喜统一审核定稿。

Book Abstract

广东独特的地理生态环境为广东地区的药材生长提供了良好条件，孕育出许多质优效良的药材。而其中一些以广东为主产区，疗效确切，在民间已有广泛应用的药材，如广东土牛膝、三角草、三、苦、蛇泡筋、蛇鳞草、火炭母等，我们就定义为广东地产药材。一些疗效显著的地产药材，经长期的医疗实践证明，质量好，临床疗效高，逐渐取得了人们的公认，并已形成了成熟的生产、加工或销售渠道的药材，逐渐发展成广东地道药材。有关广东地产药材研究已引起部分有识之士的关注和重视，并开展了相关的药理药化研究工作，但广东地产药材品种考证工作几乎仍处于空白。有不少广东地产药材研究对于品种考证工作不重视，致使一些药理药化研究走弯路，甚至出现错误的结论。为更好地开展广东地产药材品种考证工作，笔者从品种考证对广东地产药材研究的意义、广东地产药材品种混乱情况及如何开展广东地产药材的品种考证工作等方面进行探讨，现阐述如下。
（一）品种考证对广东地产药材研究的意义历史悠久的中医药发展应用繁衍昌盛了中华民族，数千年来中药品种在不断增加的同时也不断地发生着变化。研究历代和现代所用药物品种的一致性，是解决中药混淆品正确应用的重要方法之一。中药材品种考证是以追溯中药的来源为目的，以古今本草文献考证的方法，予以鉴定、弄清历代医药家和民间用药情况，并解决当代的药材混乱现象及其他方面的问题提供必要的历史依据。考证并从而确定广东历代本草中所收中药材的原植（动）物品种，不但对如实反映广东地区用药的历史事实，研究不同历史时期广东地区药物品种的变迁情况有所帮助，而且特别对正确地继承广东地区古代及民间药物生产和临床用药经验也有现实意义。
1.澄清地产药材的历史渊源和变迁每味药材，从其被发现，到小范围内的试用，至得到广大人民的认可，再至千百年来延续使用都要经历漫长的过程。每一段时期，都会因某个故事，或因有令人惊喜的药效发现，或因有令人心酸的药害事件出现，从而使人们对药物的认识及药物的应用得到进一步发展。广东地产药材品种考证的目的，是力求全面地反映出药物发展的历史过程以及这些药物在不同历史时期存在的种种问题，包括产地演变、种类的变化、加工炮制的不同方法，以及临床应用的改变和发展。如广东地产药材土茯苓在明代以前多以“取以当谷食，不饥”记载，仅地方偶用敷疮毒而获殊效，药用价值似乎不大。至明代弘治、正德年间杨梅疮流行，起初都是用轻粉治之获效，但轻粉毕竟是有毒的，随着治疗周期的延长、治疗剂量的增加，出现汞中毒也就在所难免了。不知是谁首先用土茯苓来治疗此疾，结果竟然一炮打响，为当时备受汞毒煎熬的杨梅疮患者带来了福音。从此土茯苓成为治疗杨梅疮“要药”，其他药用价值也相继被人发现和重视。
2.研究古本草，发掘新药效古人对药物的记载，多简短精练，其“只言片语”中，往往使某些药物的某些药效被人忽略。通过研究广东古本草，对药物的记载进行重新查阅考证，可能会有新奇的发现。如笔者在考证广东土牛膝治疗咽喉疾病功效的发现与药用历史过程中发现，广东土牛膝在其最早收载的广东本草书籍《生草药性备要》以及稍后的《本草求原》、《岭南采药录》等均载其为专治跌打损伤的岭南中草药，均未提及可治喉症。广东新会名老中医黄华庭最早发现土牛膝是可以治疗白喉的，并于1958年在《广东中医》上公布了这一发现和发现经过。故自20世纪50年代以来，土牛膝被广东各地普遍应用于治疗咽喉疾病，并取得较好的效果，一直沿用至今。后经进一步考证发现，原来20世纪40年代，广东地区白喉流行，黄老眼看身边患白喉的患者和亲人离去，众寻各药均无效而苦恼。黄老在某文献上看到载有土牛膝兜而忽获灵感，在清代汪昂所撰《本草备要》中查得此药，言能治喉痹，便决心一试。在采来当地出产的土牛膝经用叶、茎、根一一试过，最终发现广东土牛膝根治疗白喉的功效显著。对广东土牛膝治疗白喉的这一发现，与黄老对古文献记载悉心细查有关，更与黄老积极探索的精神分不开。
