争做将军的士兵才是好士兵
“不想做将军的士兵不是好士兵”这句话，历来有不同的解释，甚至产生争议。有的人认为不是每个士兵都能成为将军，既然做士兵，就要先想着做好士兵的本分，至于能不能做到将军就得看个人的能力和机遇。这种说法是有一定道理的。还有的人认为，不是每个士兵都能够成为将军，但是一个没想过做将军的士兵，除非机缘巧合，否则一定做不了将军。
西点军校曾对一群智力、学历、环境等客观条件都差不多的学生，做过一个长达25年的跟踪调查。调查内容是目标对人生的影响，结果发现：27％的人，没有目标；60％的人，目标模糊；10％的人，有清晰但比较短期的目标；3％的人，有清晰且长期的目标。
