《中国心理学史》是我国第一部系统研究自先秦至近代以来中国心理学思想的通史性著作。作者按照历史顺序选择各个时期的重要思想家和重要著作，对蕴含其中的心理学思想进行挖掘和整理。第一编为先秦时期，主要分析了儒家、墨家和法家的心理学思想；第二编从秦汉至唐代，重点论述了王充、范缜、柳宗元以及《淮南子》中的心理学思想；第三编以宋明清三代诸多历史人物为对象，探讨心理学思想在三代的变迁；第四编则重点介绍了中国近代心理学的发展。《中国心理学史》出版后引起国内外心理学界的高度重视，至今仍有重要的影响。《中国心理学史》使用的是人民教育出版社2005年版本。

Book Abstract

因此，我国心理学工作者于1953年夏季始学习苏联，特别是巴甫洛夫高级神经活动学说，钻研了巴甫洛夫的经典著作《大脑两半球机能讲义》，并用以指导教学和科研工作。
我国心理学工作者学习巴甫洛夫学说和苏联心理学的态度是认真负责的。但在学习中却也存在着某些教条主义的倾向，以致教学和科研工作亦存在不少问题。在“左”的思想影响下，有的高校于1958年发动了一场反对心理学的所谓“生物学化，抽象化”的批判运动。后来全国多数院校闻风响应，使心理学受到了猛烈的冲击，各院校的心理学课都停开了。直至1978年12月全国心理学第二届学术年会上才公开宣布：“1958年的心理学批判运动是错误的。把心理学打成崇洋媚外的‘伪科学’是没有根据的。”
1959年，中央号召全国心理学工作者就1958年批判所涉及的心理学基本理论问题开展讨论。于是北京和其他大中城市的心理学工作者先后举行座谈会，讨论心理学的对象、方法、任务、科学性质和行为动力等问题，发扬学术民主，畅所欲言。大家通过讨论，提高认识，决心继续积极钻研《实践论》《矛盾论》《哲学笔记》《唯物主义和经验批判主义》《反杜林论》等经典著作，学习苏联心理学以及巴甫洛夫高级神经活动学说，以提高我国心理学的学术水平。因此，心理学又呈现出一片繁荣景象。
但是，到了60年代中期，姚文元又给心理学一个沉重的打击。他在1965年10月28日《光明日报》上，以“葛铭人”的化名发表了目的在于否定心理学科学成就的文章。他又于1966年致上海某大学心理学教师的“意见信”中给科学心理学扣上了“资产阶级”帽子，把它贬低为“伪科学”，使某些无知的、丧失警惕性的人随声附和，对心理学大肆攻击，因此，心理学又陷入了万马齐喑的瘫痪状态。直至粉碎“四人帮”后，1977年国务院才恢复了中国科学院心理研究所的活动。
从此以后，我国举行了多次全国心理学学术年会以及各分支的讨论会。心理学工作者欢欣鼓舞，迎来了心理科学的春天。

Introduction

这本《中国心理学史》是作为教材在国家教育委员会的发动、组织和支持之下由一个编写组写出来的。
这本教材分前后两部分。前一部分论述我国古代的心理学思想的演变。后一部分论述我国近代怎样开始把西方的心理学引进来并得到一定发展而成为我国现代的心理学的情况。就时间讲，前一部分从先秦时代一直到近代两千多年之久，占全书大部分篇幅。后一部分至多也只包括不到一百年的史实。这两部分论述的内容是显然有所不同的。
因此，编写组首先遇到的一个问题就是，怎样把前后两部分联系起来，统一起来。其实这个问题在此之前就已存在了，到了要写一本完整的中国心理学史时，这个问题就显得突出了。
这个问题要取得适当的解决，还得先从我国古代有关心理学这一问题说起。我国古代思想家关于心理学的看法或思想和西方古代的情况一样，都是和他们的哲学思想混在一起，成为他们的哲学的一部分。所不同的是，西方古代思想家有不少人都有关于心理学问题的专著，而我国古代思想家则几乎没有，但论述有关心理学问题的专篇则有几篇。因此，几十年来，我国一般专业心理学者以及其他许多知道一点心理学的人似乎都觉得我国过去一直没有西方心理学那样一种比较有系统的研究。这样的看法并不完全错，因为事实确实如此。但有两个问题。
