Book Abstract

在儿童心理发展的连续性与阶段性问题上，弗洛伊德是一位阶段论者。他认为，儿童情绪与动机的发展具有阶段性。他把这些阶段称之为“性心理发展阶段”或“心理性欲发展阶段”（Stages of Psychosexual Development）。这些阶段是根据儿童在发展过程中身体的哪些器官为儿童提供“力比多”的满足来划分的。由此，他把儿童心理发展划分为5个阶段：口唇期、肛门期、性器期、潜伏期和生殖早期。在上述每一个阶段中，儿童都面临着一个满足自我身体需要与服从社会需要之间的冲突。当社会允许适当的身体满足时，这种冲突便可以获得满意的解决，但是，如果这种需要得不到满足或满足过度时，个体就会在以后的成人生活中反映出这种遗留行为。例如，如果一个儿童在口唇期（0～1岁）有过严重断奶的经历，那么，他长大之后就可能具有固执和坚决的性格特点，而一个幼时得不到足够食物的儿童，长大后就可能会有贪婪追求知识和权力的特点。在发展的第二个阶段——肛门期，父母对儿童的大小便训练会对儿童成人后的行为产生影响。如果父母过分重视大小便训练，儿童成年后容易具有固执的特点，并且会特别爱整洁。
新精神分析主义者埃里克森（E.H.Erikson），一方面继承了弗洛伊德的人格结构理论，但又认为，在考察儿童发展时既要考虑到生物因素在儿童心理发展中的作用，同时也要考虑社会文化因素在儿童心理发展中的作用。埃里克森认为，儿童的自我是一种独立的力量，其作用在于帮助个体适应社会。儿童逐渐形成的自我在儿童与周围环境的相互作用中起着一种整合作用。儿童心理发展的阶段是儿童按某一方式被社会化的结果。在儿童社会化历程的不同时期，正在成长中的儿童与社会环境之间存在着普遍的冲突。儿童在不同的发展阶段中面临着不同的发展任务或危机，即儿童心理与社会的矛盾。

Introduction

尽管人类关于个体社会化的哲学思考与教育实践由来已久，可谓“有一个悠久的过去”，但作为心理发展的重要组成部分并运用实证方法加以研究，则是自本世纪30年代始，只能说有一，个“短暂的历史”。经过半个多世纪的研究历程，尤其是进入80年代以后，西方心理学界关于社会性发展的研究逐渐深化，积累了大量颇有深度的研究文献。在我国，社会性发展则是发展心理学中新崛起的研究领域，社会化，尤其是儿童社会化问题，自本世纪80年代以后，越来越受关注，理论和实证研究均呈逐年上升态势，涌现了一些有价值的研究成果。在新的世纪即将来临之际，如何对国内外儿童社会化研究成果进行新的理论概括或评价，以为国人在新的世纪进一步深化这一领域的研究，提供新的、更富有深度的参考文献，实乃我国发展心理学事业的迫切需求。张文新博士的《儿童社会性发展》一书，正是在我国心理学界的这一背景下应运而生的新作，自然可喜可贺！
书稿付梓之前，我有幸先睹为快。初读之后，感慨良多，欣喜不已！我以为本书至少有以下一些显著的特点。
其一，全书10章，洋洋洒洒近40万言。第一章概述了儿童社会性发展的理论与研究方法，这实际上是全书的“绪论篇”。
